Pros
Quite simply, the best firewall on the market. Works like a charm, and is very user friendly. If you mistakenly block or allow a program it's very easy to change it manually.

Free version worked okay. They updated it and I had access problems. I paid for the pro version to fix the problem. Later they updated it again and now all internet connections were blocked. Worked fine one day and then out of commission the next day. I'm Using WinXP and I've just read dozens of other complaints like this. Do not buy this one.
Cons
I did not realize that my router already had a "hardware firewall" so the zonealarm was just added weight which slowed everything down. I'm very unhappy that the company forced me to pay for the pro version and now will not lift a finger to help. I have removed the program and now I'm up and running better than ever. I guess I'm just out the money.

Vey easy installation. Guards your ports pretty well, once you cofigure the access rights you really have nothing more to do. No problem with Win98 256 ram. Oh, moreover it monitors your antivirus system and its security lapses. It will remaind you about the update status.
Cons
Initially it may create a problem with local network if present. But you can rectify the same by carefully adding the IP addresss or range as trusted zone.

This program is a great way so that nothing happens to your computer in that you get hacked and your computer crashes. ZoneAlarm is really easy to use.

The Free and Pro Versions don't eat up your resources. Zone Alarm is essential for DSL and Cable users because, you can get attacked really easily.
Cons
The Security Suite with the anti-virus slows your computer like hell. I ran it by itself and I'm running a 2.5 Ghz Computer with 256 MB of RAM. No cons with free or pro. Also, the trial version has a annoying nag screen that you can't shut off when it loads. I have to get rid of the trial versions or other people that use the computer might shut it off and I will get attacked.

I've been using this program for four years now and have been very pleased. It's easy to use and configure if you spend a little time with it. I first used it with a dial-up connection and now with a DSL connection.
Cons
The size of the update files is a problem on dial-up. Also encountered a conflict with a program called yProxy, but discovered a way around it.

After setting up the firewall I was unable to make any changes as a password had been created but not by me. Everytime I tried to access any internet program a dialog box would pop up & ask to allow or deny program. After making selection, the enter password box pops up. How can I enter a password that was never created? I just uninstalled all traces of Zone Alarm. Also, I recieved no help from their support center reguarding this problem after sending an E-mail.
