  Stopped anything displaying on my desktop, including the start menu.

  Summary

  Put this on a computer using XP. Completely stopped my desktop from displaying. Nothing loaded on start up. Tried un-installing via safe mode, but that didn't work. Tried a system restore but that didn't work either. In normal mode used Cntrl,Alt,Delete to get task manager up. From there navigated to Ccleaner, which I thankfully had previously installed. (I couldn't get to control panel/ uninstall programs). Using Ccleaner I managed to uninstall this version of ZoneAlarm and now everything is working again.
  
  Things have not improved with Zonealarm as far as I'm concerned - I had used Zonealarm firewall for years with no problem, but the last time I installed just the firewall that seized my computer too. So I give up. The reviews for this product (the Antivirus+Firewall), seemed a lot more promising - so I thought I'd give it another try. That was a mistake. Perhaps this review will help anyone else who finds themselves with this problem.

  Of all the years I have recommended ZA, not once have I heard of that problem. Ran great with windows xp. Try updating to vista or windows 7 and install ZA.Its worked with me.
