Easy to use & understand, the basic controls have not changed in the 10 years I have used Zone Alarm.
Fully reliable & trusted.Cons
Should have been available in this format years ago.
Summary
I haven't experienced any virus, trojan or other problems since using Zone Alarm products.
I had previously tried most of the well known competitors products to find they are not as reliable & have caused systems to be very slow as they seemed to take over the priority of use.
Thank you Zone Alarm for another superb improvement to an already reliable product!! -

I love the Firewall. I recommend the ZoneAlarm Free Firewall to anyone and everyone who asks what I use to defend my own computer. I have used the Free Firewall for more than 6 years, it's amazing.
However, I'm a firm believer that software that is designed for a specific purpose is better than software designed for multiple purposes (especially when it comes to _free_ software). I'm not particularly pleased with the packaging of an Antivirus with the Free Firewall.
Either way, the Firewall still works just fine, and I have the Antivirus disabled in favor of my own Antivirus program. So that 4.5-star review? It's for the Firewall alone. I would leave the exact same rating if the Antivirus were never added to it. -

After using ZoneAlarm's free firewall for...well, it's the only firewall I ever remember having on a computer, I decided to try the Antivirus + Firewall since the antivirus software I was using was becoming a hassle to use and my confidence in the product was waning. Installation was a breeze and integration was seamless. I've trusted ZoneAlarm Firewall for a long time and I don't think that trust is misplaced in Antivirus + Firewall. It has done exactly what it says it will do. I stay informed without being hassled and protected without being ridiculously over-cautious. I highly recommend!

Have been Using this Product for a few weeks , having always used their Firewall in the past seemed to be a Natural progression. Have used some of the biggest names of Anti Virus in the past and had viruses so far with ZoneAlarm i'm still very much Virus Clean. FUlly Reccomend this product.

I have been using zonealarm now for over five years,without a single problem,regular,rapid updates ensure that the software is always upto date and functioned flawlessly.Having recently moved to the firewall and virus protection the functionality is now encompassing everything my family and i need. I now have zonealarm+firewall on all of the networked computers in the house,to protect the system end to end. Amazing product and highly recommended.

Besides the rare software clash that is easily fixed, I can't think of any cons! And if an occasional pop-up from them bothers you, go use something else!
You'll sit through 30 minutes of commercials while watching your favorite TV program, but you won't take 1/2 a second to click the x in the upper right corner? And you complain about it?? That's not a con, that being irrational.Summary
I've been using Zone Alarm Free Firewall for as long as I can remember. It has consistently been the best firewall I've used. Better than Norton or McAfee, and I've pretty much used them all. And now that it offers free antivirus protection too, it is that much better and still top of my list. Now, I must say, I do use other antivirus protection and system optimization tools along with ZoneAlarm, but ZoneAlarm will always be my #1 firewall protection. I AM NOT A ZONEALARM EMPLOYEE!! Free - if you don't count the cost to repair your computer after ZA has let it be wrecked!

Cannot protect your machine - look at the results from all the reviews on YouTube - about 90% of them show malware getting through this weak AV and either taking over the computer or rendering it un-useable.

All the reviews on this thread are from ZoneAlarm employees. CNET - why don't you wipe all the bogus comments off here and start a clean, honest comment board for ZA???
