  Apparently did not install any garbage on my machine upon install.

  Can't find any way to compress files in this program designed to compress files. Like, "You do have dinosaurs in your dinosaur park, right."

  Summary

  If this program does compress as stated, but the user has to jump through hoops to get it to operate, then it in affect doesn't work.

• NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL - COULD NOT OPEN RAR ARCHIVES

  It's freeware and seems to work about the same as WinZip, the user interface is simple and intuitive

  It is advertised as being compatible with 20+ archive formats, including RAR, but I could not open, view, or extract any of the dozen or so RAR archives I tried it on. There is an advertisement embedded in the program's window - could be malware?

  Summary

  There are lots of freeware ZIP utilities out there, but very few that also work with RAR. RARZilla is one of these, but it is only an unpacker - it can't also create new RAR's or add to existing ones. I need a utility that can do everything, like WinRar, but would like to save my $29. ZipitFree looks like it is trying to be a general purpose freeware archive utility, and the provider is advertising that it is supposed to be able to work with RAR's, but I couldn't get it do so. ZipitFree can open regular ZIP files, and seems to work about the same as WinZip, but if it can't open RAR's, I will have to look elsewhere. Perhaps the provider can fix this issue and make the next version of ZipitFree actually work with RAR's, then I will give it another tryout.

  Haven't figured out what the error message refers to everytime I click to use it, but it doesn't stop it from working. I just haven't put in the time.

  Pros

  Apart from working it is not resourse hungry or is it "clunky" in operating. I was looking for an unzipper and after being hastled to buy this or that and emailed and pass worded just to try the others this just got on with the job.

  Unaware of spyware/malware concerns

  Summary

  It is one of those progs you install, use it, and forget about it. You don't need to tweak or tinker about. Give it a go.

  Performance is marginal and spyware/malware concerns raised in other reviews appear to be correct. Even if I hadn't tossed the program because of poor performance, I would have tossed it due to security concerns.
