I bought a magazine (back issue) from Zinio, thinking I would install the reader and read the mag. What a waste of disk space and my time. I'm using it on my PC and it simply will not download the magazine from my Zinio account. That's the first and last time I will be buying anything from Zinio. Hope you're reading this Zinio, because you guys really need to get your sh*t together...

I give this product the worst possible rating. I've been using, but that's not really the right word, Zinio for over a year. I see so many complaints about in in reviews, and my experiences are the same. Keep well clear of it.

It crashes on my Mac Pro (6 core, 3.33Ghz, 32GB) about every 6 weeks requiring trashing all the files (including all the downloaded mags) and then reloading everything again. Many MB's of magazines must be downloaded again and again. I've done this close to a dozen times over the past 18 months. This happens over and over and over again and again. I think it may work better on the iPad but forget it with a desktop Mac. Zinio needs to learn how to write Mac software. This is obviously a MS Windows focused company. This problem with Macs has been going on since Reader 4 was introduced and Zinio does nothing to fix it. They only advise us to trash our "downloaded" magazines and reload them again.
Summary
I also have Kindle. It works like a charm including Kindle for Mac. However Kindle doesn't have a very good selection of magazines available. Can someone please suggest an alternative to Zinio.
I would rate Zinio for Mac at zero stars if this web page would allow it. -

If you update, you lose ALL your magazines, most of what I purchase I cannot read on my iPad even tho there is an app for it. LEAVE THIS ALONE! I hate killing trees, but this is so frustrating, I'm going back to hard copies.

Used the older version to read magazines on my PC. Subscriptions ran out so I hadn't used in awhile. Zinio sent a coupon to cover renewal of an old subscription, but guess what? Then new reader they asked me to download does not work at all. I just get a blank black screen. I followed the given instructions to correct the problem, but still nothing. Use to be a great service, but now pure junk. I'm going back to buying on the newsstand!

Summary
I've been a user of zinio since way back in 2006. All it's incarnations have worked just fine up until this time-wasting, sloppily-developed and/or rolled out, frustrating Reader 4 version. Ridiculous situation for an application that's been around for years! What happened to this company?

Ipad version running on ios 5.0 wont download any magazines and wont connect. I keep getting the "Network problem" error message. Zinio reader 4 on my mac wont even load. There a black screen.... nothing else.
Complete piece of crap.... i dont even want my $180 back anymore... i hope they go broke!!! Zero costumer support. Im going to use newstand from now on... at least Apple has costumer service.
