  Why would anyone want to save a video to their computer when they can just as quickly locate it on youtube.com or the other video sites the tool works with and watch it again later??

  Also, there are circumstances when people would like to use videos for presentations, but youtube is blocked (like at many schools).

  Well if you want to keep it, you could download it, then burn it to dvd with Freemake or a prog like that. I have a lot of DVDs of concerts for instance.

  Well, some people don't have access to the internet all the time, and/or have a limited data allowance (thank you, Verizon.), like me.
  so...yeah. downloading the internet, one video at a time for us.

  Because not everyone is permanently connected to the internet, especially on mobile devices like laptops, tablets and phones. Obviously.
  But also because some people still value the idea of personal ownership.
