"Best client, fair network"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
Best client among AIM, MSN, ICQ, etc.
Light on resources.
Awesome photo sharing feature.
Offline messaging.
Integrates Yahoo! Mail very well.
Pretty interface.
Sounds are easy on the ears.
Comes with plenty of smilies and the sort.
No advertisements. Something which can't be said for AIM.
Cons
Network isn't great in USA. Most of your friends will be on AIM.
Requires a lot of personalization. Yahoo adds in a lot of junk that no one needs.
Menus seem to be more kiddie-like. So while AIM is like Windows in that checking an option in a warning will stop it from showing again, Yahoo is the complete opposite. You have to uncheck the option to continue showing the window. Quite hard to get used to.

"Pretty Good"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
Although this program is not as good as Skype or Google Talk, it is MUCH better than AIM. This program has a good interface, user friendly controls, and access to Yahoo! radio. Also this program is more popular than Google Talk or Skype, so you can talk to more people.
Cons
Spysweeper deleted a bunch of Internet Explorer favorites links that YIM tried to add, and I had to uninstall the Yahoo! toolbar as well.

"I liked it..."
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
Yahoo IM is a great messenger, voicemail and pc to pc calling. It links well with email, and the photo sharing feature is amazing. The interface is clean and user friendly and Voicemails and webcam are good. It also contains a spam blocking feature which is great for reducing the spam messages in chat.
My favorite thing about it is the fact that there are no ads and that you can choose to ignore and hide from selected contacts, or groups.
Overall, it has a lot of great features such as PC2PC Calling, IMvironments, LaunchCAST Radio (personalized) and much more. Games can be played, mail, stocks, weather can all be checked in Yahoo Messenger.
Cons
Personally, I really like this program but I can't ignore the cons.
Its biggest problem is that you can connect to yahoo users only. Another problem I noticed is that the calls are unstable and that the IM and video window in MSN looks better...

"Good not great"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
Since most of my friends are on yahoo, I have more use for this IM than MSN, but I still think that MSN IM is better. Yahoo IM is very easy to use, and you don't need any knowledge in order to use it and talk with your friends. It has great features to it. My most favorite thing about it is the games and radio tabs they really come in handy when my friends aren't online. It also offers PC to PC calling and user can leave Voicemails for Offline- a very useful tool!
Cons
As I said, the idea of voicemail is great but in this version the PC to PC calling has poor sound quality. The chat rooms are filled with hackers. In my opinion yahoo IM has serious security/privacy problems.
As I mentioned, most of my friends are on yahoo, but a big con is that you can connect to yahoo users only.

"Even though I like Yahoo!...they's SO MUCH needs to be done on Yahoo Messenger"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
I've been using Yahoo! Messenger for many years now. Using Yahoo! Messenger to chat online with my mates, my sis and relatives. It's really good, user friendly features and good interface. I like the audibles, it's hirlaious. I like the IMVironments which is cool and love the emoticons. I must say with this current release version, the audio quality has certainly improved ALOT. My favourite is the new spamguard protecting Yahoo! Messenger and you can report spIM-bots to Yahoo! now.
Cons
Despite all my likes about Yahoo! Messenger. I believe Yahoo! Messenger has a serious security/privacy problems. From the spIM-bots, chatroom spammers, chatroom booters and IM laggers. This are my concerns and I believe these are very serious flaws in Yahoo! Chat Room which Yahoo! has still failed to respond to these problems. Yes they have tried to reduce these abusive and malicious Yahoo! chat users in the past. But my impression from Yahoo! is they have not tried enough and they are far too slow to response to these spIM-bot, chatroom spammers, chatroom boorts and IM laggers problems. Besides these concerns. Yahoo! Messenger ignore list is STILL limited. Even though the "report user as spam" is a step towards the right direction for Yahoo! There is still a limit to how many people can be placed onto the Yahoo! Messenger ignore list. I personally think the ignore list limit should be unlimited.

"It's good."
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
chat, music
-
"good all rounder app"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
No ads! except for a small one when using cam. I can name people what I want and update their profile as i want to see it, unlike msn where you usually see the email add (unless they have filled it in). And I like the feature of being able to hide from selected contacts, or groups.
If you have a modern computer, this is a nice messenger to run, mine never crashes nor feels heavy on resources. Since most of my friends are on yahoo, I have more use for this than msn. It links well with email, and you should see how easy photo-sharing works. The interface remains clean and user friendly. Voice call and webcam is good, provided you have good internet connection.
If you want to connect with your contacts via IM, email, voice, voicemail, conference or want to share pictures, share simple files, play a game, or want a sidebar that tells the weather, plays the radio, scans the news etc, this is a nice tool.
It is not linking all your .net like msn
Cons
Similar to version 6.0, there's no more link to chat in the UK version (so does msn). The BT Communicator should be an optional download, this is useless for me.
The single window IM and video in msn looks better.
Launchcast wont work if you download a different regioned version.
You can connect to yahoo users only.

"Booters get the best of you with this"
Version: Yahoo Messenger 7.0
Pros
Not much... Umm... Nice skin...?
Cons
Where to start... This is a piece of crap, I prefer UNOFFICIAL clients for Yahoo, as Yahoo always is being targeted by booters... Yahoo is being beaten at it's own game, in my opinion...
