What was a great bit of software has been wrecked by the update. Did you even test it before putting it out?!? In short, if you're running version 3, DON'T UPDATE!!! If you're looking for a good downloader... this isn't it. Sad really... Fix please!

I have been using YTD v3 for a few months and have never had an issue with it. The free version works quickly and easily. I upgraded my account to the Pro version and enjoyed even more great options this program has to offer, such as converting files to my preferred format, downloading in batches and so on.
Cons
I made the mistake of upgrading to Version 4 yesterday evening. My YTD no longer works. It locks up my internet connection forcing me to have to reboot my computer. I unistalled the program and tried a reinstall of V4 again. That did not fix the problem. I even attempted to reinstall the working perfect version 3, but I can not downgrade as it tells me "You can not download an older version, visit our site online..." I even unchecked the box to not include the additional software, it installed itself regardless.
Summary
I normally live by the saying...if it's not broke, don't fix it...
I am very angry at myself for not following through with my belief where YTD is concerned. This is a horrible update and I recommend anyone reading this review to heed the warning and not update to this version.
YTD v3 gets 5 stars from me.
YTD v4 gets a huge negative 5 stars from me. What a major disappointment! -

During installation, untick the other stuff like toolbar options if you do not want it. It is so easy to install so read what you want and what you don't.

been using this software for years with no problems what-so-ever.
just make sure you pay attention during installation so you don't accidentally install the toolbar.
they constantly update the software with the updates that happen on the youtube site, on occasion it wont work for a day or two after youtube updates its site and breaks something in the process but they usually update the software quick so it works again when that happens.Cons

there are so many imitators out there with similar names most get confused with the legit software and the non-safe software.
this is the youtube downloader from altervista.org, which is completely safe to use! if anyone else says differently they obviously don't know what they are talking about and have never used this software, or they rely heavily on false positives of the online community...
they also advertise the paid upgrade to the software a lot within the program, but you don't need to upgrade!Summary

Very easy and efficient.

It doesn't download videos that are not given permission to be downloaded, and does not download vids that are banned in your country. But the moment you use Hotspot Shield you may go around it.

When you become an advertisement with an upgrade or Full version special offer purchase - all you need to do is to close the window and the YTD video Downloader works again. -

I've been using the free version of this app and it does exactly what I need. No fumbling around for features here and there. Plain and simple. Gives me the option to view my videos later and maybe save the interesting ones.
