  "A good powerful 2D ORPG Maker, with a few minor issues"

  Pros

  Create rich, and unique MMORPGs with almost no programming knowlege.
  Add in custom features with a powerful yet simple scripting language.
  Customize GUIs and button locations
  Add custom graphics/music
  Create special permissions for your staff members

  Cons

  Small (while helpful) community
  Scripting isn't as powerful as it could be and doesn't support custom
  No paperdolling without scripting, and best version of paperdolling with scripts is not very good

  Summary

  XtremeWorlds is a free 2d mmorpg maker very similar to that for Eclipse Origins. However XtremeWorlds proves superior in many ways. The most notable of which, is the fact that XtremeWorlds actually comes with a Questing system, that you don't have to implement yourself. The engine is not open source, but implementing custom features can still be done with a simple and powerful scripting language. There is support for renaming all your stats, classes, and even some workaround methods to create races/factions (replacing classes however)
  
  If you want to make a 2D MMORPG, this is the best way to go.
