Version: Xplorer2 Lite 1.7.0.5
Pros: I was searching cnet downloads for a good FREE File Manager. I must have downloaded at least 10 free managers. This one in my view is the best one to date. A lot of the bells and whistles are in the Pro version for ($30.00) which for ME are not necessary. If you're looking for a simple easy to use manager than this is the one. If you want a File Manager with ALL The Bells And Whistles and you want to shell out some bucks then I suggest Power Desk Pro. I have the paid version of it, and it's GREAT. Xplorer2 Lite does just as well, Plus It's Free.

Pros: Xplorer2 Lite is good for viewing your folders,files.In the start-up notification says "all Menu functions are disabled permanently " and that you will get them in the Plus or Pro Vn.You cannot do anything with the Menu-bar.It is better to choose 'Xnview" which is the best free-ware in this class offering all functions.;available in download.com itself.

Pros: Right now I'm having a problem with opening folders with "right click" and double click. All folders open with "search results". The only way to open my folders is with Xplorer2 lite. Love it. Without it, I know that I would probably had to install the XP OS all over again. HP/Compaq couldn't help. So right now Xplorer2 Lite is my life saver.

Pros: Opens up the world Xcopy and copy could never deliver so easily in multiple independently scrollable windows
Cons: GUILT! Why have not donated to help this gem ...

"A Definite Improvement Over Standard Explorer"
Pros: I use Win XP and there is very little to compare between the standard Explorer and Xplorer2 Lite. This program is far more versatile,and much more useful. I guess I'm one of those that C/Net reviewers would refer to as being on 'a gentle learning curve' as I still have a lot to learn about this program's features.
I love the interface. The tabbed browsing feature is especially useful, and I love the way that helpful tool tips and Tips of the Day are displayed. Standard Explorer options aren't altered; ie: delete, rename, etc. but this program is far more versatile. It even has a feature for shredding data!
Cons: Two things: Xplorer2 Lite won't allow you to use the Check Duplicates or Compare Subfolders features. Some free programs just leave you wanting more!
