Version: Xplorer2 Lite 1.6.5
"Wonderful - At last a file manager worthy of Win XP!"
Pros: Everything you always wanted Windows Explorer to be, and swore at it because it wasn't! Fast, versatile - and once you've used the dual-pane view, allowing dragging and dropping freely between panes within the one window, you'll never want to use the old two-window method again. Archive handling is superb - you can use a utility like 7-Zip from within x2, or just open the archive in one pane and drag files into the other - they extract automatically. Just a delight to use!
Nice clean, logical interface, too. Toolbars are full customisable: commands icons can be added, removed, rearranged freely.
The free version (limited to private or academic use) is all most people would ever need.
Cons: Some buttons on the toolbar by default are only available in the Pro version, and lead to nag screens. Annoying, cheap, adware-like - it's OK to have a paid version, but not OK to keep taunting us with it - see Winamp or AVG for proper, polite behaviour. However, to be fair, you can remove these buttons, or, in the case of commands with restricted functionality (e.g. "Find" which in the free version uses Windows own find command) you can disable the nag screens.

"Best Free Explorer Alternative"
Pros: Allows dual pane exploring with the ability to create multiple tabs in both panes, one folder tree, preview pane below folder tree (although what you can preview is limited in free version), etc. Bookmarks let you recall views. Shred option for more secure deletion (although not sure how secure). Attractive, easy to understand user interface.
Cons: FTP access appears to only work with command line rather than using a dedicated FTP user interface. Help file has to be downloaded separately. Both are pretty minor when compared the functionality you get.

"One of two of the Best apps I've found on CNET"
Pros: Everything it claims to do it does. It works circles around Explorer. You can view contents of two different drives at the same time, compare them, sort, rename, and move files and folders between them with ease. Better yet, from my point of view, comments can be added and you can copy the full file path-not some of the time, but all of the time. I liked this app so much I downloaded the pro version and after trying it for one day, purchased it. Now I can color code and search w/some intelligence. There are so many possibilities I may not get to them all in my lifetime but I'm going to try.
Cons: There is NOTHING to dislike.

"Extremely Useful for anyone looking for an alter"
Pros: I've found this program extremely useful as an alternative to Windows Explorer. The dual pane interface makes moving files a lot less of a hassle than it can be with the default interface.
This programs GUI and overall feel really help bring it together as a better interface for Windows.
Cons: 1) There are some great features that are only available with the pro license. Understandably the company wants to make a couple of bucks off this program, so it's not really a big CON.
2) I would love to see better overall integration of this file manager into windows. Guess we can't have everything, yet.
