"Great for those not afraid of the keyboard or menus."
Easy to queue, easy to filter, posts are listed in a sane manner, a post that is 1300 parts wont show up as a single line onscreen but rather all the posts that make up the whole. No need to fool with expanding trees to see the parts.
No way to save your queue, you loose your queue if you accidentally close the window. No ssl support built in but xnews works well with stunnel even on vista, so who cares. Score system is too complex based on old unix expressions.
If you are part of the point and click generation don't bother you are too young to figure how to use this program well. Some people would call this client ancient but everytime I try to use something newer I find it impossible to organize and filter things out in a time efficient manner. This program is an excellent for that. Xnews never misses a part so you still get unfinished parts so those pars work that much better. Easy to queue files and filter headers. Posts are listed in a way that lets you see if parts of it are damaged and keeps you from missing large posts even if you scroll fast. You can easily discard and mark read the headers you don't want so you don't need to even see them.
