Version: XnView 1.82.4
"very very good"
Pros: Can open almost any files. Even the .dll can be viewed as hex. Can read some of the pdf except it is not designed for you to scroll easily.
Some editing effects are useful.
Cons: Maybe the author should consider to improve the text edit capability, like faststone, where you can add arrows, text boxes.
Anyway, both are good freeware. I use both.

One problem I found, not a bug:
Xnview will try to preview any file in focus. That might be a problem if there is large files with unknown format, say, videos, zips. It will be painfully slow at that moment. Need some option to enable only preview several format or limited the preview file size in a range.
