"Nice product, disconnected support and community"

Pros
It does good quality vector graphics and operations, it has a good UI, and has a really nice WYSIWYG web page generator. I've been using this for years.
PDF generator is also good.Cons
-Website generator uses javascript over CSS and DIV for positioning and some other things. Instead of just for layer popups.
-Bad font handling for web generator
-Uses undocumented(except for obscure references on a 3rd party forum) layer properties that you have to manually type in layer name fields.
-The 3rd party forum, the only feedback medium, has negative responses to pretty much all feature requests and support questions through their board.. The actual company never seems to go there.
-They don't seem interested in keeping up with technologies and trends. Like web 2.0 placeholder templates etc..
They instead say it's not supported, and if you don't like it use something else(not far off from this attitude).Summary
It's probably the best WYSIWYG and vector tool out there, great supplemented with gimp or photoshop and a code editor; I use notepad++.

Pros
Designer Pro has an extremely fast rendering engine (perhaps the fastest of any graphics program) The tools are all very responsive and tight which says to me that the coders wrote it right and tight.
Cons
No support for SVG
Summary
i have been using Xara Designer Pro since it came out and used Xara Xtreme back to ver 3 and can honestly say that I can not remember any crashes.
If you are in to web site construction but do not or can not code Designer Pro has a full featured 'what you see is what you get' web editor included.
All in all Xara Designer Pro might be the only graphic design program you need. -
