Publisher's Description
From Gyrus Solutions:
Permissions Manager is a Windows shell extension for extended control over files and folders permissions. It adds "Security"/"Easy Security" tab to the "Properties" page of any object shell interacts with.
This tool allows creating predefined sets of access control entries (presets) and applying these presets to file system objects. Also, Permissions Manager can work on Windows XP Home systems where file/folder security dialog is missing.
With Permissions Manager you can limit access to programs, files and folders on your home computer to your children, or protect important documents or programs when computer is shared between several persons.
Another feature is Security Zone management, which is especially useful when you work with files downloaded from the Internet.
What's new in this version: Version 2.5 added full support of 64-bit Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7. Improved Security Zone management. Improved security management of multiple files.

"Simply great for gaining control of inaccessible files"
Version: XP Home Permissions Manager 2.3
Pros
Very easy to use. Total access to XP Home permissions. Easy to set your own template.
Cons
No user guide. They dont tell you their program integrates into the properties dialog box.
Summary
Wonderful access to hidden XP home security fields. My file permissions were lost when transferring. This program allows me to regain the needed permissions. Thanks to the creators for a very nice applet in the Windows Explorer Properties dialog box..

"A sensor sweep revealed no signs of life."
Version: XP Home Permissions Manager 2
Pros
None at all. Sweeping the back porch is more fun than dealing with this program. At least there I can watch the squirrels scamper around, which is more enjoyable than dealing with this program.
Cons
Don't bother with XP Home Permissions Manager. The program did not even install properly.
Summary
I ran the install file. It set up 5 files, including 2 application extensions. But there was no application file! There was nothing to run! Bleah, I'm so tired of these junky programs that don't even come close to doing what they advertise, and that includes Windows XP.
I tried another program called File Security Manager. That one worked well and I was able to change the permissions for a file, but when I tried to exit, it threw up a nag screen that would not go away! I had to use Task Manager to close the program. -
