"Pretty good Sip phone"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
Better then Zoiper on call quality. Good feature set and good functionality. I am able to fine tune it fairly well and it has been the easiest to register with my Asterisk server
Cons
There is some clicking on the line when a call is connected for a very long time. I do not know if there is a solution out there.
Summary
I put down 5 stars, really it is worth 4. the 2.5 rating above is totally unjustified. This is a good Voip Phone.

"Terrible in every way."
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
You can make and receive SIP calls.
Cons
Hideous looking non-standard interface.
Terrible phonebook.
Could figure out how to call a phonebook entry, I'm sure you can but the interface couldn't be less obvious if it tried.
Very poor call quality.Summary
Avoid if possible.
Has no redeeming qualities. -
"Very good free voip software"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
A very good voip software fully functional. I've tried it in Windows and Mac, both work perfectly.
Cons
I personally don't like the look of X-Lite and I cannot find a way to change it.
Summary
Perfect choise

"Spyware Activity with this application"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
Nice feature set.
Cons
Protocol Analyzer shows the first 166 frames are DNS, TCP, HTTP then SSL to/from non-SIP related hosts. This before the DNS query and SIP REGISTER. Who knows what's in the SSL tunnel. Counterpath support said there is no malware. Beware.

"Hey, it works... that's what I needed"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
It works and has some cool features. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it, especially that it was free.
Cons
The only problem was occasionally the sound got a tiny bit choppy sounding, but hardly noticeable. The quality was usually very impressive.
Summary
You can't beat this for free!

"Looks good, but ..."
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
Vid capability. Nice face.
Cons
No auto-sync Outlook contacts (ex Moto Razr V3 P'book). Has issues about accounts not set up. Jabber works like a Telephone - just right. ISP suggested this to solve reception problems. Download that again No help file at fingertips.
Summary
The interface is not intuitive. Key features are not available on the face of it. Digging for stuff knocks this one out.

"Transfer & Conference features are not stable"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
Video conference, contact info and call list are very nice features.
Cons
Conference option is disconnecting one call very quickly (less than one minute). Transfer option is not available on X-Lite 3 and suggesting to upgrade to 1.5..;)
Does any one face these issues?Summary
With out Video Con Avaya S/W is looking very stable.

"It has not worked at all in 2 weeks"
Version: X-Lite 3
Pros
It is free. I d/n have $15,000.00 for a land line.
Cons
Neither my local guy, nor the folks at Starband can make it work.
Summary
It is a great idea, since I only have satellite internet available. No electricity, just a generator. When they first had me download the x-lite, it worked great. Now something, I d/n know what, has happened and it has not worked in 2 weeks or more. No one seems to know what to do to fix it. I can call through MSN and yahoo most of the time. I just liked the idea of having a phone number. When it was working, it was better than the Goldstream equipment that Starband installed. Starband told me I had to sign up for 2 years and pay the top fee to get the best phone service. Well, crapola, good service has not happened. Not even with x-lite. I really wanted the x-lite to work for me. I would pay a monthly charge if it worked properly. But, since the technician that I contact can't fix the phone, I don't have much faith in another service like this one.
