Publisher's description of Worms Forts: Under Siege
'Worms Forts: Under Siege' puts you in command of a crack team of up to four fort-dwelling worms. Set in the cartoon environments that will be familiar to previous 'Worms' players, you direct your four strong worm garrison to quickly construct defenses to maximize your strategic advantage; expand your castle so as to seize valuable victory locations, and of course, build massively destructive weapons to destroy your opponents' fortifications. Test yourself against the single player game by battling through the 20 missions or take on up to four of your friends in the frenzy of destruction that is fort vs. fort mode.
'Worms Forts: Under Siege' combines buildings and siege weapons with the dark and zany humor you have come to expect in the 'Worms' universe, in true 3D battles. This is not a normal strategy game - the emphasis is firmly on console: its immediate, it's fast and it's also furious. It's a race against time to destroy your opponent first before he destroys you.

- Version reviewed: Worms Forts: Under Siege 1
The Worms franchise is known for witty quips, fantastic environments, and well-balanced multiplayer strategy. The latest addition, Worms Forts, adds the concept of fortifications to the turn-based battles. The game looks fantastic, runs smoothly, and is as funny as ever; however, the demo lacks instuctions and will probably seem frustrating at first.
Each of your worms has 60 seconds to make his move; then the other team follows, one worm at a time. Build fortifications first, because firing a weapon ends your turn. Right-clicking brings up a menu of weapons and structures. Cool weapons like the flying bishop with exploding Bibles and the Trojan donkey are available from specific buildings, but the lack of documentation means you'll have to figure them out yourself. Two included tutorial levels help you learn the ropes, but we never got the hang of moving the 3D camera. Given the demo's 478MB download size, a fast connection is a must.
