"Exactly what I needed"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
works flawlessly
Cons
none as of yet
Summary
I needed a macro that Excel could not do and this program was perfect.

"Software Seems Pretty Good, but the Company doesn't."
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
Software seems to work good for automating simple tasks. Very easy to use for beginners.
Cons
Have to wait for activation key.
Summary
If you purchase an INSTANT download don't expect it to be instant. All you get instantly is a download of the trial version you already have. You have to wait until Monday for an actual license key. Shouldn't a company selling AUTOMATION software be able to automatically email a license key? Oh wait that would involve COMMON SENSE. So if you're like me and need this program today, go with a different program. Or just sit around posting bad reviews while waiting for you key like I am.

"Good for creating mouse and keyboard macros"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
Effective for what it does. There's the possibility of editing the macros, but otherwise it's as easy as pressing record and stop, then setting up play back.
Cons
Recording the macro significantly slowed down the responsiveness of my mouse.
If window sizes change or icons move, this can play havoc with the macros you've set up.Summary
Can effectively automate very repetitive tasks, but don't expect it to be able to adapt to changing situations as it's not contextually aware. It only records mouse movements, clicks and keystrokes.

"Exceptional macro creator--but get the PRO version!"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
1. Easy. (I do not even know what a macro is.)
2. "Smart macro" restores exact window positions and even "clicks through" other windows.
3. Another reviewer said this macro simply remembers coordinates and loses precision. That is incorrect.Cons
1. This standard (non-pro) version is too slow to play video games.
3. The standard version sometimes "outsmarts itself" by refusing to click.
4. The free licence is for 30 tries--not 30 days. But if you pay, there is a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.Summary
I am no expert but I do not think there can be a better or easier macro creator that is this affordable... But... do not mess around with this "standard" version... see the other listing for "Workspace Macro PRO"... Also get the Launch-n-go bundle, you will find a use for it someday. (Currently about $50 for the PRO bundle.)
I said that another reviewer was "incorrect" in saying that WS Macro just seems to remember coordinates. But In certain applications, the WS macro is unable to recognize a window. So the other reviewer might be correct that sometimes WS Macro must resort to simple remembering of the coordinates, and that eventually this might lose accuracy. Anyway, try it out and see. As I said, I suggest the pro version for the best possibility of working. Any problems, they also have an active forum.
1. The PRO version is much better and not much more expensive, especially with the Launch-n-go bundle which you will want also.
2. With the PRO version + Launch-n-go you can assign one-click F-keys to play video games and other repetitive tasts. This standard (non-pro) version is too slow to do this effectively.
3. The standard version sometimes "outsmarts itself" by refusing to click if it does not find the program window. You can work around this by:
a. Use the Windows scheduler (not the macro) if you need to open and close programs repeatedly. Windows XP--Start--Control Panel--Scheduled Tasks. This is a more bulletproof way to open and close programs. Then use the Workspace Macros to perform operations within the program at the times it is open. Eg., "schedule" the program to "open" and xx.00 hours and "if still running close after 25 minutes." (And if you like, to repeat every 30 minutes.) Then create macros to start clicking on the program at xx.05 hours. (And if you like to repeat every 30 minutes. Or whatever.)
b. For complex repeat operations, instead of one long macro, you should "schedule" numerous small macros to go off and on at intervals. Then create one "Schedule Toggler" macro that turns all of the schedules off or on with one click--by opening and checking/unchecking the ENABLE box on the "Scheduled Task" for each macro.
c. If any macro uses the ESC key, this turns itself off! But you can still use the ESC key by putting it at the end of the macro.
d. Get the "pro" version! Then you can edit the macro with conditional if's etc. that will keep it running. The "pro" version also can "chain" numerous macros together.

"Very unreliable"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
Good for executing repetitive tasks that are simple, and I mean, VERY simple.
Cons
Very unreliable when it comes to tasks that involve more than a few steps. The program isn't very smart. It only tracks exact mouse coordinates, so for example, if an icon on your desktop has moved slightly, the whole sequence will fail.
Summary
I don't recommend this product. I expected the software to be smart enough to recognize certain variations and adjust the macro accordingly (ie. changes in icon positioning, slow connection times, etc.). I think for most people who are looking to save time with this product will be disappointed.

-
"performing well for gaming"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros

Cons

"NOT VERY RELIABLE,NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY CHARGE"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
IT IS A VERY EASY TO USE RECORDER OF MOUSE CLICKS AND SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND.
Cons
THE ACCURACY OF THIS MACRO RECORDER IS WAY OFF. THE FIRST FEW CLICKS WILL BE RIGHT ON TARGET BUT AFTER 20 OR SO RUNS THE MACRO BEGINS MISSING.ALSO THE SALES IS VERY PUSHY AND BOTHERSOME.CALLED ME 10 TIMES TRYING TO SELL ME MORE, NOT CLOSE TO VALUE.
Summary
THIS MACRO RECORDER IS EASY TO USE AND UNDERSTAND AND WOULD BE OK IF YOU ONLY NEED SEMI ACCURATE AND WITH VERY FEW RUNS IN CONSISTENCE. I WANTED TO USE THE MACRO TO PLAY A WEB BASED GAME AND IT WOULD WORK FOR ABOUT 1 TO 1.5 HRS THEN WOULD GET SO FAR OFF TRACK I WOULD WIND UP LOSING. WORST OF ALL IS TETHYSOLUTIONS SALES PERSONNEL ARE SO PUSHY WITH CALLING YOU ABOUT SELLING THIS ITEM( BY THE WAY IT IS WAY OVER-PRICED) AS WELL AS THEY PRACTICALLY FILLED MY INBOX WITH EMAILS TO TRY TO SELL ME THIS SOFTWARE . I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANYONE EVEN CONSIDER TRYING THIS SOFTWARE FOR 2 REASONS, 1.) NOT ACCURATE, 2.) EXTREMELY PUSHY SALES FOR OVER-PRICED ITEM
I WILL RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE. AND YOU SHOULD TOO. -
"Form filling is based only on mouse moves and clicks"
Version: Workspace Macro 4.6.1
Pros
Simple GUI, easy to understand.
Online help for difficult tasks.Cons
It works based on the position of the objects in the window instead of values and webparts.
When the form you're trying to fill, changes the field's positions, the rest of the values are missplaced. -
"looks goog"
