"Replaced my search engine w/out asking"
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
I haven't used it yet, as my "con" issue was immediate and apparent.
Cons
The first search I made after installing this product brought up a search engine called "Blekko",not my usual engine.I believe in due diligence and buyer beware, but this product made NO MENTION that it would be replacing my engine. "Blekko"? Really? I don't care if a product shoots donuts out it's backside and they pay me $10,000 to try it,if your product fundamentally changes how my computer operates, and has nothing to do with what I got the product for, than that qualifies as a FAIL
Summary
Boo! Hiss! Pphhtt!!

"The app I've used the longest on all my computers."
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
Ctl-Alt-W is as common to me as Ctl-Alt-Delete. I love the near-synonym type functionality, especially when songwriting. Rather than just seeing synonyms, I feel like I can explore word concepts. For example, if you put in 'apple', it shows 'edible fruit', which is not a synonym, but a 'type of' related word, and also crabapple, which is also not a synonym, but a 'types' related word.
Cons
The professional version seems too expensive. I paid for it a couple of times years ago, but the upgrade costs would make this the most expensive dictionary I've ever owned by far. I want to support the author, but too much is too much in the age of 99-cent apps on phones.
Summary
I've used this app almost since the dawn of time, and nothing has ever come along that is better or even close to the quality level of the dictionary and semantic mappings between words that it offers.

"Good App, Irritating Conditions"
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
Wordweb is not the Concise Oxford Dictionary, but is certainly a handy, lightweight app for the common definition checks that most of us want such a tool for.
Cons
Unfortunately, I agree with Tom.Piper below about their silly global warming politics. I understand that it's their product, and this is a free country, but refusing to download you the free edition if you admit to taking more than one long haul flight last year is not going to make them any new friends among busy people - It will probably just just increase the traffic over at Pirate Bay.
Summary
A good tool, but if they want to lecture people with their climate politics, why not stick to YouTube like everyone else?

"Excellent program!"
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
I use it regularly and it always provides a good selection of definitions.
Cons
None I can think of.

"It never let me to search for a better one!"
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
Hot keys (with options to customise it), best word suggestion methods (like nearby, similar), Pronunciation (audio), less memory space, supports most OS (including versions for mac) and more.
Cons
nothing really
Summary
Using this for more than 5 years, Wordweb is one of best tool I always trust. Once installed you have the power of words in your finger tips. I always take care that I don't lose the setup file as I have suggested to most of my friends across various fields and would continue to do so.
I love this handy tool in my laptop. It is very helpful whenever you are reading something on computer.
If you are looking are a best dictionary software, I suggest Wordweb confidently. However to be honest, I have not tried any other dictionary tool yet since I did not had any need for that.

"Good UI, but silly conditions & weak thesaurus"
Version: WordWeb 6.72
Pros
Local dictionary means it comes up fast. Short cut C+A+W is handy and the Firefox add on makes it easy to use from the web.
Cons
The usage conditions are plain weird: you agree to global warming alarmism. Really! A couple of times, it made a pop up to scold me about how long my computer had been running.
Definitions are weak and short. If you didn't know what "monolithic" meant, you'd never get it from them -- contrast with good definition at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/monolithic
Also, the thesaurus is weak. It often shows a third or a quarter of what's shown in a good, on-line thesaurus.Summary
The UI and speed earns it a "good" rating. But the content is barely adequate. Be sure to double check with an on-line tool, if the results matter to you. WW is free and worth every penny of that.
