WordWeb lets you highlight any word, then click it and up comes the definition(s) and some synonyms. I love it!

"Best in the line"

Pros
Easy, with audio pronunciation tool. Sits decently on the taskbar. Also gives synonyms and some popular Proper names too.
Cons
Better ways to be Ecofriendly: During renewal they asked me how many times I had flown that year. It was the only year since childhood when I had flown twice and I clicked twice because I thought it was a nominal question. And my account could not be renewed because they said I had left carbon footprints. I think they are doing well in creating the best paperless dictionary, they should think of other ways than to discontinue accounts.
Summary
They could also add other language dictionaries or translation/transcription tools. I was looking for French to English.

I often use the thesaurus when you just cant find that right word. I find it very easy to use at any time.

Awesome database, almost instant search and a bunch of other cool twiddly add-ons.
Cons
Very few. The database can be a little limited at times, and the program doesn't stay up to date with modern slang.

All-in-all, an excellent deal. I will probably be buying the full version soon.

Easy word lookup. It was easy to select a word to lookup with ctrl+right click.
If you mistype/misspell a word when looking it up it gives a list of closest words to what you typed.Cons
Antiquanted UI. The 90's called and said they want their UI back. This is really sad b/c the UI on the mobile version is pretty good.
Free version for PC is limited to 30 days. However, if you fly less than once a year you can continue using it for free. ***? I hope this is a joke the developers put in. The mobile versions are still free. I guess they do not like PC users.Summary
Don't waste you time because you might actually like it then have to uninstall it if you fly to often.

"There Whenever I Need It!"

Great for desktop, as well as, devices!
Whenever I'm doubtful about a spelling, I can check it out with ease, and I can find out if I'm using a word correctly.
If I'm tired of the same ole words, I can find out a word or two that I can substitute for the word I usually use.Cons
I'd enjoy being able to cross reference offline. (Other than that, it does a wonderful job.)

Easy to use and very comprehensive. For a foreigner, being not a translation dictionary, it allows a better understanding of the word under scrutiny.
Cons
For a foreigner, needs a minimum level of English language practice, being a "one-language" dictionary.
