"First-rate software"
Version: WordWeb 4.5
Pros
I have been using this program for several years now, and I would compare it as being superior to several commercial products that I've tried which seem to be written for Windows 3.1. (Oh, they SAY they're for Windows XP, but the clunkiness and interface say otherwise.)
This program never crashes, delivers on its promises, and offers a resident or non-resident (tray) based version that let you decide if you have enough memory, etc. to spare for a tiny program or if you want to run it only when needed.

"THE FREE EDITION IS VERY HELPFUL"
Version: WordWeb 4.5
Pros
The best thing about this product is that it is compatible to almost all the editions of Windows. The Free version itself has many features like synonyms, antonyms, pronunciation etc. It even knows beyond literature i.e. it gives you info on history, science etc.
Cons
Well, I think the free edition satisfies me completely.

"Great tool considering it's freeware, very useful."
Version: WordWeb 4.5
Pros
May not be as thorough or as fancy as other paying software, but it gets the job done.
Sitting quietly in your tray, with one click you can find definitions of words along with synonyms and other related words. It gives you a list of resembling suggestions should you have miss-spelt, and works with both standard English and American English. Although limited, it can even give you definitions to some of the basic computer terms and even some everyday slang.
All in all a pretty straight forward programme and the bottom line is, it is very useful.
Cons
There's really not that much you can criticise with a freeware like this, it really is more than enough for your average user.

"Its the best!"
Version: WordWeb 4.5
Pros
Still remains my favourite offline tool. The simplicity of use is irrefutable. Just sits quietly without much RAM & easily accessed by highlighting the word and clicking the hotkey.
Cons
The current have no new features, maybe just an update on its dictionary of definitions but still it retains its commendable features.
