Some users may find this word game interesting, but others will be put off by its level of difficulty and annoying sounds and displays. Word Dummy uses a basic interface to display randomly selected letters until enough are revealed to guess the word. This is difficult enough for adults, but almost impossible for children. Features include a progress scorecard, alphabet selector, and a clown image that builds when the letter selection is wrong. The "letters remaining" display helps users keep track of available guesses, but the "Countdown to your doom" wording is unusual for a child's vocabulary-building game. Additionally, the small letters in the selector can be difficult to click. When a word is not completed within the eight-guess limit, the image screen flashes red, displays the words "You lost dummy!" and plays sirens. How encouraging! While this simple vocabulary tool is targeted to children we think parents will want to leave this dummy alone.
