  Easy to use and with enough functionality to create good looking tutorials.

  Cons

  It lacks "click effect" and "zoom and pan effects".

  Summary

  I tried BB FlashBack and DemoCreator before installing Wink, but in the end Wink seemed much more simple to use and gave me what I wanted: a rapid way to do a tutorial in Flash format. It is true that the other commercial applications had better effects and more complex functionality but for example with DemoCreator the "click effect" was suffering a big delay. I lost like half and hour trying to figure out how to fix it, and in the end I decided to use Wink and to do the tutorial today, not tomorrow. Being free it is a plus. In this case you get much much more than what you pay.

  Cons

  No panning feature, very stationary, not designed for the non-tech savvy computer users. I have a life, I want a program where I don't need to learn how to use it, I want a program I could use right out of the box.

  easy frame-by-frame editing, smooth good quality capture, export to swf or jpeg/png, great annotation tools

  Cons

  took a while to figure out that to export to a graphic format (e.g. jpeg/png) you have to use File -> Export to HTML.

  Great for animated screencasts, but also useful for simple screenshots

  Pros

  Pretty simple once you test it a few times. I captures screenshots and can make a flash presentation that resembles real time recording (based on your capture rate). Very useful for software demo's and the like. It worksed well for me and got the done- which was to make a demo on how to configure a SQL client.

  Cons

  I tried it with Halo just to see if it would make a little movie. It is not going to work on things that move really fast like games. At least you cannot use it to make a flash movie of a game though you could take screen shots.

  Pros

  Capture ANY screen activity as well as insert your own screen where ever you want. I've previously seen Camtasia, Captivate, SnagIt, CapturePad. Wink is my preferred choice. It's simple to use, works well and the price is excellent.

  Cons

  Minimal cons. It is desirable to be able to save the output as Mpeg or AVI files, but hese are not options. Only output types are Flash or as a Windows executable which is not a big problem if you have a file converter.

  This is one of the most useful free programs out there. I had spent almost a week testing out simular products and none of them were nearly as good as Wink. And Wink was the only one that was free! I was able to make a desktop video in about an hour the very first time I used it. You can see the video and what Wink is capable of on our website: fixieonline.com/pagefix/ (I'm sure it can do MUCH more as this was only my first attempt) <p> <p>Thank you for the wonderful product.

  Cons

  I would have liked to be able to overlay audio on top of the completed video (all frames) rather then just one frame at a time. This can probably be done while capturing, I'm not sure, as I wanted to add audio after completing the captures.
