    "Very Impressed"

    March 15, 2007  |   By MJJOS

Version: Windows Vista Ultimate 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2)

    Pros

New interface, interesting new features, The welcome center, DirectX 10 if you have a capable graphics card.

    Cons

Installation was difficult. I got it on DVD in a shop, and I tried to upgrade my 32 bit XP pro SP2 to Vista ultimate 64-bit, and it crashed during installation nearing the end on the final step. I tried 3 times, with the same thing each time, this happened while performing a clean upgrade, on a 2 week old PC. Eventually I tried installing the 32-bit version with an in-place upgrade, and it worked without any problems. However on the new Windows boot manager, I now have 3 corrupt versions of vista that won't start, and the vista that does work. That's all I didnt like about it. Since it was installation and not use of the OS I don't mind. Sure installation is obviously important, but in the long run I will be using it and not installing it over and over again. So I didnt mind, I am very happy with it.

    "Upgrading is not a breeze!"

    January 30, 2007  |   By Kimul

Version: Windows Vista Ultimate 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2)

    Pros

I love Vistas new graphical appearance. It's stable enough and fun to work with.

    Cons

Installation and upgrade is hell on a couple of years old machine. Drivers that wont run, drivers that can't be found. Upgrading XP with a few very normal programs like for instance Nero is impossible. Expensive.

    "Many new and useful stuff"

    January 30, 2007  |   By pmrussell892

Version: Windows Vista Ultimate 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2)

    Pros

New agressive networking stack with IPV6 built in. New audio stack with volume control for individual applications. Built in bluetooth support. Supports tons of new hardware. Much better interfaces for admin tasks such as the ability to see exaclty what processes are running under a certain instance of svchost.exe. Parent controls built in so you can now control what your kids are looking at.

    Cons

Which there was the ability to search certain meta tags. As is now you can only search size, name date author of files. Inearly versions of the beta you could make a list of meta tags to search on.

Need the newest and strongest system to run it. Older computers will not get a increase in speed.
