"Hmm......."
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
It's simple-easy to use for the amateur film maker.
Cons
Some video clips don't run smoothly. Also, sometimes it does not let me save my movies, even though I import the videos and audio how it instructs me to.
Summary
Don't use Movie Maker unless it's the only software you must use; and if you do use it-you must be ready to be super patient.

"bizarre random malfunctions; poor quality; frustrating"
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
none. none. none.
Cons
When I edited one part of the video, I often got totally different changes in other parts of the video. Also, I couldn't drag and drop selections. Also, the features were limited. A huge, frustrating waste of time.
Summary
Avoid this.

"Pitifully bad"
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
Absolutely none.
Cons
You can't use mp3 format! The most common audio format in the world and it can't be imported.
Summary
Completely useless, as expected from Microsoft. As bad as Windows 7.

"I cant find a word to describe something so hideous!"
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
Easy to use
Cool Effects
FreeCons
Crashes AFTER finishing the movie.
What more do you need?Summary
Okay...When I first saw it I Loved it.It was VERY user-friendly.But the fact that it crashes after you sit at the PC for hours trying to make video makes it the worst gadget/app/or-whatever it is.

"An image worth 1000 wors"
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
Not bad for a free tool; unless you want to do more than just putting together images, text, animations, transitions....
Cons
Well, it could be better if it was up-to-current media trends. I mean, it cannot produce FB readable video presentations. Neither youtube.
Summary
I spent uncountabe hours seting up a movie with years worth of pictures for my son Bar Mitzvah. The cummulative size was in the order of 1.2MB with text effects transtions and so forth. After tryng unsucesfully to do this three times (several weekend hours of trial and error) I had the bright moment of collecting all the pictures in a PDF document. That was easy! Fast! and succesful at the very first try. FREE is not good after all.

Cons

Summary
Use it but be prepared for a lot of frustration. Save your project file OFTEN! After every change you make.

Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
Easy to use.
Some effects are good.
It's free and comes built-in with Windows XP, Vista & 7.
No viruses, adware, spyware etc.Cons
Most effects are bad.
Nothing professional.
Constantly crashing.
About 20 seconds into every video, the screen goes black and I hear no sound.Summary
At least you haven't wasted any money downloading it and there are no viruses, but it constantly crashes so nothing can be made with this software.

"It constantly crashes"
Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros
It's possible to make a decent video using the transitions etc.
Cons
It's constantly crashing. Every time I go to save a video, it crashes. It's rather bothersome, and it needs to be fixed.
