Version: Windows Movie Maker (Windows XP) 2.1
Pros: Easy to understand, works fine on nearly every computer.
Cons: Slow rendering the final product. Few special effects, kind of feels like eating a sandwich with nothing on it, and nothing to drink. haha
Summary: I had this on my acer netbook. I didn't like it at first and it stayed that way. It was good for simple video editing and webcam capture, but as far as anything else goes, like special effects and how fast it converts video files, it isn't very good. read more

"unable to reload Movie Maker on XP with SP3"
Pros: links to download Microsoft Movie Maker inevitably lead to Windows site which requires XP with SP2, but will not work with SP3 installed.
Microsoft then requires Internet Explorer 8 and IE8 puts the nail in the coffin for Movie Maker download.Cons: Provide a download file (or link to it) for Windows XP Movie Maker (V1.1 or 2.1 preferred) which works with XP SP3 and does not require access to Microsoft website.
Early versions will edit and convert between video types,Summary: no problems with Microsoft Movie Maker itself, just problems getting it reinstalled after an unknown bug causes it to crash read more
