    "Best Media Player Yet"

    November 1, 2006  |   By Computerterry

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

Ive mostly used Winamp, but after downloading Media Player 11, I got rid of Winamp within a couple of hours.

Media Player 11 has a real cool design, and the Library features are the best Ive seen, adding Album Cover designs to the files in My Music in seconds.

The sound is phenomenal. I love it!!

    "Great!"

    October 31, 2006  |   By trkraus876

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

I had the beta of this product, and i loved it from the second i got it. The new black interface is the coolest interface i've seen (especially with the blue)

All of the videos in web pages that use media player are updated to this interface once u get it, and it is a huge improvement

I don't use media player for music, but it is great for storing and organizing my videos

    Good Job Microsoft

    Cons

    None

"This is new? Had it since May/06!"

    October 31, 2006  |   By Baja Tango

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

Works pretty much as you would expect. No surprises.

    Cons

Got excited to see a new WMP...until I realized that I have had WMP11 since way back in May. Why is it new? Unless the others were betas.

Still haven't figured out to this day where the open button is on the gui. I always go to the top and click File and Open, but where is the one-click button on the player itself??

    "Eh, it's a good one."

    October 31, 2006  |   By hmj_2003

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

I love the sleek new design of it. I love the black and grey. The quickness it opens as, oh man! I'm still finding new features on it. It is an improvement from the old one. I think change is good in most cases.

    Cons

First of all, the Album, Artist, Song, ect. icons are humungous. I'm the type that likes my icons small. With this new one, I can't change that. At least I haven't found a way to make them smaller. Second, it eats up about 42,000K of my memory right now (my computer can support it but it's the highest of all the processes.) And third, JetAudio (the one I'm used to) doesn't take up a window on the bottom and uses way less memory. For me, it saves up the window space for more important things and frees some memory.

All in all, it averages down to not download it unless you are really a "Windows Media" dude. I wouldn't reinstall WMP11.

    "SUPERB!"

    October 31, 2006  |   By gujtavito

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

*Impressive Incremental Search(faster than Winamp!! my library has about 5000 songs and the incremental search is ULTRA fast)

*I love the drag and drop for album covers

*Library Management is maybe the best feature of the player(lots lots and lots of options)

    *New Look

    Cons

    *Long Installation Time

*DVD playback sucks(poor features compared to software like WINDVD 7)

*Should Be able to find lyrics...

*Memory Usage is high (Right Now 24 MB)

*I guess the novice users will have a hard time learning how to use it.

"New design (not blue any more), better library features"

    October 31, 2006  |   By prettylisa

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

Installation takes a bit of time. Player has new design and I was pleased to find that Microsoft replaced that terrible blue color. It installs completly new file icons for media files, you might find difficult to deal with at the beginning.

Media library is good and kind a fun to play with. It sorts music by years, alphabetical listing of artists etc. I liked design and how it is organized. I think many people will like new media library. It is possible to burn audio as well as data CD. Picture playback is added as well.

    Cons

It can play DVD, but there are less options available as compared to stand alone DVD software. For example, it is not possible to fast forward movie with sound. It seems it takes more resources for DVD playback. Viewing by frames function does not have save funcion. Considering this 4 stars.

    "great player"

    October 30, 2006  |   By wileyjan

    Version: Windows Media Player 11

    Pros

i love wmp, i use it 95 percent of the time. i find it less bloated the musicmatch, and it never gives me problems. i prefer it for music or movies, and contrary to some reviews it's not all that bloated. i prefer this to any other media player out there. i use realplayer when the need arises, but then i'm right back to wmp. since i have a dedicated drive for music files, i rip all music to windows media audio lossless. love that quality.

    Cons

on a few cd's i own with "hidden" tracks, for instance tools undertow album, it doesn't give the information for track 69. but i've only encountered this on two cd's in my several hundred libray.
