Version: Windows Media Player (Windows XP) 9

    Summary

If you want to f**kup your system then install this. Ms say that you can only uninstall WMP9 using the system restore feature. this is a load of rubish as i tried to do so and it won't uninstall. Now i'm stuck with a system which doesn't have WMP functioning probably. Thanx Microsoft for the worst program in the world

Version: Windows Media Player (Windows XP) 9

    Summary

i had been using the beta versions of 9 series since the first ones came out and they seemed great. now that i have the final version, it doesn't play mp3s right for me. i get some strange distortion in the first 10 seconds of every song. what good is a media player that can't play media correctly?

Version: Windows Media Player (Windows XP) 9

    Summary

All the bugs from the betaversions are gone...Microsoft has accepted the demand from users worldwide. With this player you wont need any other. I run it with NimoCodecPack and it works 100%. BRILLIANT!

    "COULD BE THE BEST"

    January 15, 2003  |   By lakephillip

Version: Windows Media Player (Windows XP) 9

    Summary

It has lots of easy to use gadgets, and the essence is high-fidelity sound, but there are several features lacking:You can't record analog sound, unless you buy the $19.95 program called Plus! Media Edition; When burning you can't disable the 2 second seperation on tracks, making live, and concept albums, distracting.
The only audio problems I experience are with the auto-volume leveling;sometimes distorting CD audio because the CD recording level can't be set manually regardless of going into the audio-menu, it is apparently auto-level with Sound-Max soundcard, so you have to adjust the playback levels more often than I like. I look forward to the SRS enhancement to get 5-channel sound from two.(when it becomes available. Bottom line this player is Very good, and it works well with XP and oh, that's right it is Free!
