"Not worth my time"
Version: Windows Live Movie Maker 1.0
Pros
None at all
Cons
no timelime, not place to import the clips, storyboard way to confusing to use .Need to be designed better.
Summary
There's no way that this ciuld be easier to work with. The timeline with Windows movie Maker 6.0 and the importing of the clips help make it much easier. To me, WMM 6.0 is much better then the Live Movie maker.

"Simple and effective"
Version: Windows Live Movie Maker 1.0
Pros
The basic features are outlined clearly, nothing is too difficult. All the tricks to learn soon become natural.
Cons
If you view it as 'free software' then none at all really.
Summary
I wouldn't over dramatize this software, but it does what it's cut out to do, and it does it without much fuss.

Easiest movie maker I have ever used. Converting WTV Vista Media Center files was a snap!

"Worth Downloading"
Version: Windows Live Movie Maker 1.0
Pros
Easy to make slideshows, add captions and music, add and cut videos, customize transitions, and add effects.
Cons
Could have more transitions and effects, support for exporting to other video websites, although that's available through plug-ins.
Summary
I decided I'd mess around with it last night and I have to say it's very nice. I was able to make a quick slideshow very easily with a handful of images I had lying around, add smooth transitions between them and throw a music track to it within a few seconds. I don't like the view mode as much of that of Windows Movie Maker (not Live), but it's not bad by any measure.
My cousin Glen, a Mac user for a little over a year now, also likes it and seems to have problems using iMovie on OS X. He has iLife '08, which explains some of it, but all in all, he does like Windows Live Movie Maker better. So hey, even some Mac users like it. -
"A painful experience"
Version: Windows Live Movie Maker 1.0
Pros
Nothing at all
Cons
Just about everything
Summary
What a waste of download time. This is a FREE program, guess you get what you pay for. Absolute cr*p is what this turned out to be. Do not waste time with this one. This is another of Microsoft's 'bombs'.
