"A masochist's delight."
Pros
Hasn't killed anyone... YET.
Cons
It's the browser that doesn't browse! It takes forever to load, and hangs on just about every page I try to open. I've tried every workaround there is, and yet I still end up having to force it to quit with Task Manager.
Summary
I also have Maxthon, which uses the IE engine, and it's always integrated perfectly with it up through IE7. With IE8 installed, Maxthon hangs and crashes just like IE8, and that's with a completely different GUI. I think IE8 was designed for Vista, and the porting over to XP was an afterthought.
If you run XP, stick with IE7 for necessities like Windows Update, and use Firefox or Chrome for serious browsing. MS even has a patch for preventing this dog from being installed with your critical updates:
