Version: Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking Upgrade 1.4
"Took Some Know-How..."
Summary: I, too, had a bumpy start with DUN 1.4 at first.
But once I dug into what it does/how it works, I noticed it was having an "issue" with what AOL/JUNO/NetZero had dun to my DUN.
First I ran ScanDisk Thorough with the switches set to "Delete Cross-Linked Files" & "Free Lost File Fragments" with ALL boxes "checked". Afterwards, I ran the latest version of RegClean ( http://download.com.com/3000-2094-881470.html?tag=lst-0-1 ). Works Great! No problems! You may have to re-install your proprietary ISP (like the ones mentioned earlier), but the new 1.4 "works" with these. Tested it with Juno 4.0 which now runs better.
Footnote: MS DUN 1.4 is designed for use with REAL modems and NOT SOFT modems that require OS/software to operate. People with soft modems may have problems with this program and should be running Windows 98 SE anyway. Hope this helps...
