WindowBlinds offers a generally compelling way to add some panache to Windows XP or Windows Vista. In short, the program lets you skin your graphic interface, offering a number of preconfigured themes that range in styles and change the entire look of your desktop. No matter what skin you choose, though, we doubt you'll have any complaints with the appearance of the polished, attractive themes.
You also choose from several toolbar icon sets to match your skin of choice and tweak settings such as the size of the taskbar. WindowBlinds gets high marks for performance; we found the skins loaded seamlessly after a couple of seconds. However, we should note that the program takes up its fair share of system resources.
If you want to edit the themes through the program, you'll have to install the publisher's SkinStudio, and we missed the ability to reassociate a wallpaper image of our choice with our selected themes. On the plus side, the trial version is extremely generous and offers plenty of opportunity for users to decide if they'd like to purchase the full version. Anyone who sits in front of a computer will find that WindowBlinds helps liven up the experience.
Publisher's description
From Stardock :Customize the look and feel of Windows XP with WindowBlinds. It's a Windows utility that enables users to personalize nearly every aspect of the Windows graphical user interface. It can "skin" your title bars, push buttons, Start bar, radio buttons, and nearly every other part of Windows. There are thousands of freely available skins to choose from. Use WindowBlinds to make Windows look like another operating system (Mac, Linux, etc.) or give it your own unique look and feel. You can also create your own skins using the freely available SkinStudio. WindowBlinds eliminates the need for any stay-resident program making it use virtually no extra memory. It also makes use of hardware acceleration found in modern video cards to make Windows perform even faster than it does by default.

Version: WindowBlinds 5.51
Pros: I've been using this software for almost a year, yes I bought it. I change my theme at least once a week. When you buy this product you get access to Cursor XP as well. It's just so much fun to select from 1000s of themes - all downloaded with the click of a button. If you like the style of one theme but don't like the color, then you can change the color once it's downloaded. And you can choose your own wallpaper or use the wall that came with the Blind theme.
Cons: Not a think. It has never jammed my XP (it's 4 years old) or caused any spyware, malware, viruses or anything like that.

Version: WindowBlinds 5.51
Pros: It renders perfectly and smoothly, no matter which of the many skins I use.
Cons: * window on start-up (can be solved by paying)
* my wireless card stopped working after I installed WindowBlinds. Of course, I also did a bunch of other things that night, but I cannot be sure where the fault lies.
* limited features (can be fixed by buying)

Version: WindowBlinds 5.51
"Fun and Visually Interesting"
Pros: I took some time to download this software, afraid that it could make a mess in my computer or slow it down, the truth is that none of that happened and really liked the way it works. Is fun to change all the aspects of your windows, makes it look closer to vista if you are on XP or make it look like you were using Mac instead of Windows... Is easy to use and if you go for the enhanced version, is really affordable.
Cons: I had a couple of problems when closing the program, leaving my all my windows looking strange. I also noticed the program doesn't go too well with certain software that I use too like Yahoo! Messenger and Camfrog, they work, but they appear to be slower.

"A great way to redesign your desktop and share it with others."
Pros: This program is simple to use, and provides very good customization of the desktop. When used with the Skin Studio, many UI elements can be modified.
