"Makes resizing your Boot Camp partition a breeze..."

    November 2, 2009  |   By jmholmesjr1967

    Version: Winclone 2.2

    Pros

This software worked great! I didn't have to reinstall Windows 7 when I upgraded my hard drive in my MacBook. It took care of everything for me in backing it up.

    Cons

Takes quite a bit of time to back up and then move everything back over to the new partition, but a far cry quicker than re-installing and re-downloading everything from scratch!

"Winclone definitely gets the job done"

    June 28, 2009  |   By Bengt77

    Version: Winclone 2.0.10

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I yesterday used Winclone successfully for cloning my Windows Vista 64-bit installation from my MacBook's previous internal hard drive (that now, put inside an enclosure, functions as my external back-up drive) back to my new internal hard drive. Everything went smoothly. The actual transfer is rather slow, but Winclone definitely gets the job done nicely. Highly recommended!

Tested it with a NTFS-BC-Partition. Works like a charm. Thousand Times faster than install Win from Scratch. Keep up the good work!

    "Essential!"

    Version: Winclone 2.0.1

    Summary

This app is wonderful because it works. Your alternative is to back up using a Windows app while booted in Windows. That sucks and doesn't always work due to so many Windows files not being abled to be copied while they are "open" (running). Winclone does a perfect job. I've back up several times and restored three times. Each time it has always worked. If Winclone seems to get slower and slower, just clear the log and it will be fast again. It's a wonderful app and I too have contributed twice to the developer and would encourage others to do the same!

    "Good product, responsive developer"

    February 3, 2008  |   By ibiswales

    Version: Winclone 1.6.6

    Summary

It does what it says on the can. Good for resizing the partition as well as just back-ups. Contacted the developer about a minor glitch with 1.6.5 and hours later 1.6.6 came along - good work!

    "Great Product!"

    Version: Winclone 1.6.3

    Summary

This program worked great! I know there are other methods to resizing a windows partition, but this program was the nice, easy package I was looking for. Following somewhat closely to eloranta's procedure, I had my windows partition cloned, resized the partition, and restored the windows partition in about an hour. Highly Recommended!

"Great for resizing the Bootcamp partition"

    November 3, 2007  |   By eloranta

    Version: Winclone 1.5

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Had great success with Winclone! I was looking for a way to resize my 32 GB (FAT32) formatted Bootcamp partition to 100 GB (hey, The Orange Box alone requires 20 gigs... ;-)). Went through the following steps: 1.) Converted the partition to NTFS (with convert.exe in XP, google for details...). 2.) Booted into Tiger partition (on external drive), and used Winclone 1.5 to make an image of my Bootcamp/XP partition. 3.) Booted into Leopard (on my primary internal drive), and used Bootcamp Assistant to remove the existing Bootcamp partition. 4.) Still in Bootcamp Assistant, created a new Bootcamp partition with size 100 GB. 5.) Continued the XP installation to the point where the FAT formatted (Bootcamp) partition has been reformatted to NTFS and the first restart is made. 6.) Popped out the XP installation disc and went instead back to my Tiger partition and reran Winclone. 7.) With Winclone, restored the previously saved image to the new bigger partition. 8.) Verified that the new Bootcamp partition works fine - and it did! :)

Very happy with Winclone! Great program, and free as well!
