"Comes packaged with foistware"
Version: WinZip 10
Pros
Can be used to zip and unzip archives in .zip format if you don't have 7-zip.
Cons
Installs AVG secure searchbar onto all your browser whether you want it to or not. AVG hijacks your browser homepage and internet searches and AVG uninstaller does not uninstall AVG.
Is out performed by similar programs that are availible for free.
No support for improved compression methods like .rar or .7zSummary
This could have been a passable program if it wasn't made redundant by free programs and could have remained a valid, if sub-par, choice for file compression due to its speed if not for the foistware it forces onto your computer when downloaded. As it is, this is a terrible choice for anyone.

Cons

"This is still i use?"
Version: WinZip 17.0
Pros
It was good back in it's time.
Cons
Is it still considered cons when the software is an irrelevant dinosaur?
Summary
This antique soft is quite pointless when you can just get WinRAR.
Welcome to the modern ages! -
"Supports all compression formats"

"Easy to use, tons of useful features"
Version: WinZip 16.5.10096
Pros
WinZip opens zip files and other archive formats when other file utilities can't. It is fast, reliable, and easy to use. WinZip 16 includes great features like ZipSend, which helps me send large files attachments.
Cons
I haven't had any problems with WinZip. It just works.
-
"Works great for novice user"
Version: WinZip 16.5.10096
Pros
I don't use many fancy features. I just occasionally need unzip and appreciate the 1-click unzip feature. I also have WinZip Courier. The two work well together with the ZipSend button on WinZip.
Cons
None that I can find.
Summary
Everyone needs a zip file creator and opener. This does a great job and has more features, if I need them.

"Complete and utter rubbish"
Version: WinZip 16.5.10096
Pros
Absolutely none, unless you want have money you're trying to get rid of. And even in that case, I'd rather burn it than buy this pathetically awful product.
Cons
I can only really describe this product as Bloatware. Long gone are the days when WinZip was a useful tool. Now it is just full of unwanted options and "features" which quite frankly are more of a hinderence. Unfortunately, Winzip has fallen from the top of my useful apps list, to the same level as I would rate MalWare. Slow to install, tries to change your IE settings, installs useless and pointless "features" and is basically a complete waste of time.
Summary
Avoid at all costs! My advice is use WinRAR. Far superior in EVERY way. Looks better, is faster, has better features, easier to use, doesn't clog up your system with additional processeses and system tray icons, the list goes on an on.

"Trustworthy and powerful program"
Version: WinZip 16.5.10096
Pros
I have been using different versions of Winzip from 1995. Winzip does not need any certificate.
It has not crashed or given unexpected results a single time in my 15 and odd years of usage. I really wonder, how rigorously they must have tested the software. Thanks to the developers and testers of the software.Cons
I have not seen any.

"Simple, Effective, and Fast"
Version: WinZip 16.5.10095
Pros
Simply amazing. Extracted my RAR files with ease. Faster than other programs.
Cons
Can't think of any at the moment.
