WinZip's latest update takes the industry-standard compression tool to new heights by adding the ability to manage and archive data in the cloud.
Comprehensive syncing: WinZip 19 lets you manage and sync with most popular cloud services: Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, MediaFire, SugarSync, and CloudMe.
Integrated experience: WinZip 19's newly streamlined interface is almost identical to Windows Explorer's, for a fluid transition between browsing files on your computer and managing files on WinZip. You can switch back to the classic view, if you prefer.
Effortless setup: Getting your accounts to work with the new WinZip is relatively easy. Just log in and give the app permission to maintain your files on your preferred cloud service. In our tests, some hosts like Box and Google Drive took time to get everything situated, but the overall process went smoothly.
Manage, back up, and share: You can now migrate data across different clouds, and encrypt, compress, or even back up data from one dashboard. Zipping files is still as fast as you would expect. Additional features like PDF conversion, watermark addition, or image resizing during zipping allow you to quickly upload and share your work.
Security: Encrypting your ZIP file in the cloud provides an additional layer of defense in case your account is compromised. So even if data thieves snatch your files, they can't access them.
Classic view hides new features: The classic interface is a welcome feature for veteran users but is not designed with the new features in mind. Performing basic tasks, such as transferring files between cloud services, is a chore, making you dig through menus and tabs. Stick to the new UI unless you're really attached to the classic look.
WinZip 19 demonstrates how the prominent utility has moved beyond compression and unzipping. There's plenty to like about the latest WinZip: the uncomplicated interface, the ability to bridge different cloud services, and file encryption. If you're looking to manage all your cloud storage from a single interface, the new WinZip 19 is an excellent choice.
From WinZip Computing:
WinZip 22 Pro delivers renowned compression and encryption, essential backup tools and new productivity-boosting features. Now you can access files more easily by adding multiple accounts from the same cloud or IM service to WinZip. Sharing is also easier with all your contacts in the new Combined Address Book. File handling is more flexible than ever, giving you more control over how you zip, encrypt and share individual and groups of files. And enhanced MP3 compression reduces files by 15 - 20%. Browse and edit files on your PC, network and clouds, plus resize images, create PDFs, add watermarks, scan and share documents and much more with the power of WinZip.
Has tacked on features that make use confusing, Many things have nothing to do with compression. The compression needs improvement. It was the leader of the field. I believe WinZip needs to go back to its roots and polish its main purpose.
Way too many features that I do not need. I found the compression disappointing. I haven't upgraded for awhile so was expecting faster, better compression. Unfortunately the compression is no better than windows built in compression. Sorry I must be truthful in hopes WinZip can get ahold of itself and be the leader again.
I went to the site and agreed to a fee of $29.99. I agreed to a ONE time fee of $29.99. Oh, they sent me a receipt fast enough. When I went download it, I READ the EULA before I agreed. There is a clause in there that you agree to let them charge you ANNUALLY forever for this product. I never agreed to that. I tried to cancel the purchase and there is no number. I then pretended that I wanted to BUY the program and low and behold a person answered the phone. He said I couldn't cancel it. He said he worked for Corel and I would have to call Cleverbridge to cancel. So if you buy this...you will be paying for it for a long time. In 5 years I would have paid $150 just for an unzipping program. My bank said the only way to stop the charge is to cancel my card. Don't use this company. I am really upset. I figured the only thing I could do was get the word out since I am not going to get my money back....Good luck
Expensive, complicated interface if all you want is unzipping. When you install the trial version it automatically sets itself as the default unzipper app and so you can't see, or access, Window's (W10 for me) ability to unzip files all on its own.
I click to install this and after it downloaded it made explorer not work (meaning your desktop and dock with your pinned programs including start up menu) it made everything disappear except the internet browsing window and task manager did not work when i pressed clr, alt, delete all at the same time. I had to press f8 button to enter safe mode after i forced shutdown my computer and f8 for boot mode selection didnt come up when it says to push esc for options, so it hid f8 out of the f buttons, and wouldnt uninstall in safe mode, so i had to use recovery and restore to a previous system image to restore my computer to before it was infected with the virus
do not install this unless you want an infected computer!!!! you have been warned!
Costs a ridiculous amount.
Tries to include adware.
This is a rip-off for most people. My older laptop with Windows 7 doesn't have an built-in extract/zip tool, so the Microsoft support said I needed a 3rd party tool like WinZip. I downloaded to try for a measly 15 days to find out none of the "extra" features were testable, although I wouldn't even use them. Then they want $38 then $8 every year after. The extra tools are of no value to me and take up space. Free/cheap and more user friendly zip programs are plentiful, so skip the trial. Corel should be ashamed to have their name on such a trap, or use the WinZip name to push a overpriced product.
Will install all sorts of adware, reminders and popups you absolutely do not need, but will no doubt harass you IN YOUR SYSTEM!
Avoid.. I cant believe that such a great product has now been infiltrated by this utterly unacceptable practice by owners Coral. Thank you AVG. I will never now install this product.. time for a new "zipper"
