    May 12, 2012  |   By zonker845

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.52

    Pros

    Free but thats about it

    Cons

Mostly doesn't fix stuff but tells you it's identified stuff that the paid edition will fix

    Summary

I used it to identify registry errors which it did but it wanted me to upgrade to fix them. So I found it useless

    "The most worse cleaning utility"

    April 8, 2012  |   By Sreesnp

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.5

    Pros

Good user interface is the only pros I can think of.

    Cons

The cleaners do not work effectively enough to boast as a cleaning utility. That means you will simply cleaning with it again and again.

    Summary

What is the use of a cleaning utility if it do not work the way it is supposed to?

    "Once-Great Program Now Neutered..."

    April 7, 2012  |   By Kyuzo124

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.5

    Pros

The cleaners (what few there are now) work well enough.

    Cons

Most useful cleaners (History, Registry) no longer work. Other Utility Suites (Glary being a great example) offer much more.

    Summary

Prior to version 10.42 WinUtilities was an excellent piece of freeware. During update to version 10.44 YL Software neglected to warn users that the new update would leave the utility neutered of its best features. Prospective users might want to check Glary Utilities out as that program offers a history cleaner, registry cleaning and other useful features the post-v. 10.42 WinUtilities lacks.

The backlash of CNET user reviewers against YL Softwares is YL's own fault. Had the company been more forthright, many users might have kept the fuller-functioning 10.42 version.

    "Crapware! Really!"

    April 7, 2012  |   By pickycustomer

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.5

    Pros

    None any more!

    Cons

    Not worth time or effort!

    Summary

One of the best things of WinUtilities Free was the Registry Cleaner.
Now you have to pay to use it. I am now using Glary Utilities and CCleaner. If you have v10.22 or earlier keep using it. Just stay away from this version.

"Major loss of utility in v10.5"

    April 6, 2012  |   By jon4bass

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.5

    Pros

    It's free.

    Cons

New for v10.5: Registry cleaning no longer works unless you obtain (pay for) license for "Pro" version.

    Summary

    Craptastic!

"Now just a waste of hard drive space"

    April 5, 2012  |   By mattsdad

    Version: WinUtilities Free Edition 10.44

    Pros

It installs easily, No more Ask tool bar request.

    Cons

The program has lost all functionality.

    Summary

Glad I kept a previous version stored. 10.42 is the last version worth using. I just downlaoded and installed 10.5 in hopes that they removed the restrictions they placed starting with version 10.44. The program is the same: worthless. I reinstalled 10.42 and now I have the progam back that many of us have grown to use and love for what it does. What a shame.
