Publisher's description of WinSesame 7.1
From Aragon Soft:Hide your data from inquisitive eyes on your hard disk, Cd-Rom, external drives or for the transfer by Internet of complete and confidential files and folders. Just right click on a folder and choose Lock with WinSesame. Choose the password, the file is locked. Now the opening of the folder requires the password. The data contained in the locked folder are encrypted by an absolutely unbreakable process and the length of the password is not limited. To close again the folder, no need to provide the password again because this one remains associated with this folder although not readable in the computer when the folder is locked.
Moreover you can close and lock with only on click all the protected folders you have opened on your computer. WinSesame allows you to create distributable CDRoms with access protected by password. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

This helpful folder-locking tool is simple to operate, but it could use a better manual for novice users. Except for the simple Options and password dialogs, WinSesame is operated though your context-click menu. Our testers found that the program wasn't friendly to first-time users, but the learning curve isn't steep, and most users should quickly master the program.
Locking and encrypting a folder is a mere matter of right-clicking on it and choosing WinSesame Lock. You just have to enter a password twice and the folder is locked down. Attempting to open the folder displays a password dialog that our testers couldn't bypass. Shortcuts to files in locked folders simply fail to find the file. Users who just want a minimum of security can easily set an option to use the same saved password for all locked folders.
We liked that the passwords are not limited in length or type. The very security conscious can add another level of protection that limits folder decryption to their original computer. This freeware version is limited to only small folders. Users wishing to use this program on a typical system will have to pay for the unrestricted version. Still, WinSesame is a strong, useful folder-encryption and locking tool that proves easy to use after some initial work.

This software version | All versions -
Version: WinSesame 7.1
Pros: It has a good interface and I like the idea of not having to retype a password on closing a folder and locking it
Cons: I used it on a couple of test folders and it seemed to of foregotten my passwords and refuse access to the folders both times, I had to delete folders after they were left behind form the UNINSTALL! good thing they were only test folders *BEWARE*
-
