"do NOT use this prog - it's DANGEROUS"

    March 4, 2013  |   By jctyler

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4,9

    Pros

none - we installed it, it didn't work as expected, we uninstalled it and it left us with unremovable winmend folders - search for "winmend hidden folder remove" and you'll see what I mean.

    Cons

do NOT use winmend - don't let yourselves be lured into trying it by some clueless reviewer who is nice about software to get freebies.

We tried it, it didn't work properly, we didn't like it, we uninstalled it and it left a "winmend hidden folder" behind which we have not managed to delete yet. And the prog installed such a folder on the three HDs on the test machine. It is dangerous garbage. How anyone can recommend this crap is beyond me.

And it's not as if we were the only ones to have this problem. Search "winmend hidden folder remove" and you see what I mean.

    Summary

dangerous - disk space coloniazing crap

    "Don't use it!"

    July 7, 2012  |   By LiliaMSU

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.6

    Pros

    No good! Horror!

    Cons

    Stay away!

    Summary

Ok...my love story with this program is 100% over! I just clicked on WinMend and I see that all folders are...gone!! Where did they go? I have plenty of backup so I did not worry too much. But still...how can they just vanish? Please don't use this program! Try SafeHouse Explorer free version, it's one of the best. (Also: Androsa - it's free!)

    "Good for little secrets"

    April 12, 2012  |   By LiliaMSU

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.5

    Pros

Not good for big (CIA, FBI, Cydonia...) type of secrets...

    Cons

    Hides those embarrassing 1970-80's photos.

    Summary

I really love this program, it hides the files in less than a second no matter how big they are. ''Seyfi84'' says there is a way to access the hidden folders with the right program, so if you have big secrets, you can use Androsa File Protector, it's simply the best and it's free. Or... lock your entire computer with Smart PC Locker Pro , here is their site:

I just saw a program very similar to WinMend - it's called ''WISE FOLDER HIDER'' - I don't know if it's the new-improved version of WinMend. I read that it cannot be opened with other programs. Dear ''Seyfi84'' - if you want you can test Wise Folder Hider. (It's a free program)

    "Caveat emptor! it's a scam"

    February 15, 2012  |   By seyfi84

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.5

    Pros

Nothing worthy to type in here

    Cons

exploits a Windows bug to provide an illusion of hiding functionality

    "Hidden folders still accessible"

    February 11, 2012  |   By tumasek

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.5

    Pros

Hides the original folders and files.

    Cons

Creates a new folder C:\Winmend~Folder~Hidden\...\cn\ where the so called 'hidden' folders and files are accessed FULLY if one uses the File Manager ZTree, rather than Windows Explorer. The info stated the hidden items are not accessible with another program but indeed they are with ZTree!

    Summary

Without doubt this program does NOT secure your 'hidden' items from prying eyes, only in Windows Explorer. Use ZTree and see for yourselves!

    "Best Folder Hider Ever"

    January 8, 2012  |   By BsR126

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.4

    Pros

Unlike other file/folder hiding software it can hide files/folders on removable drives. That's the best part of it.

    Cons

It would have been better had there been any option just to lock the folders in local as well as on removable drives instead of hiding them.

"Very efficient and easy to use."

    September 27, 2011  |   By sercnet

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.3

    Pros

You can hide and unhide your folders very easily
    Good graphics

    Cons

Not fast to open the program

    Summary

    Updated on Sep 27, 2011

The software has been working great since I installed it one year ago.
The new version changes nothing, keeps working fair and lets you choose between more languages.
Folders appear and disappear instantly, while a "Winmend~Folder~Hidden" folder is created in local disk C, without affecting the System in any way.
WinMend Folder Hidden can be tried at any time, in my opinion.

    "avoid this one"

    September 21, 2011  |   By DaveKimble3

    Version: WinMend Folder Hidden 1.4.5.3

    Pros

    none, this is rubbish

    Cons

It hid my folder and then later said it was the first time I had used it, so I lost my folder. Support sent one standard email, then one diagnostic how-to, but nothing more.

    Summary

Back up you folder before you hide it - which totally defeats the object.
    Not just useless, positively dangerous.
