"Decent MD5 checker for one or two files"
Summary: If you are only checking a couple of files this program will do, but it is too tedius to use with a large number of files. I downloaded 22 files along with a single MD5 file containing the checksums for all 22 files. SolidBlue Win MD5 Sum does not have the ability to load this MD5 checksum file and compare all 22 files listed within the file. SolidBlue Win MD5 Sum can only compare one file at a time. You have to open the finger print file with a text editor, copy and paste the MD5 checksum value into Win MD5 Sum, then select the file on your hard drive to compare to the value. You have to do this for every file you want to test! It works the same way when creating MD5 checksums. It does not have the ability to select and create MD5 checksums for multiple files. It also does not output the calculated value to a MD5 checksum file to pass along to others. If you want to create checksums for multiple files you have to select each file individually, create the checksum value, then copy and paste value into your own text file, and then repeat for every other file you want tested. I wouldn't use this for my MD5 testing if there were more than 5 files I needed to test. Other programs do automatic sequential checking of all files listed within an MD5 checksum file and can create an output.md5 file for multiple files that you select. I would look at them if you need multiple files tested.
