Winzip - 109MB
Winrar - 102MB
Winace - 91MB!!

I canÂ?t understand why the reviews are so critic.. it works, it compress and it decompress. Yesterday i compressed a folder originally with 1.05 GB, and with winace went to 440 MB..
Altough Cnet has an older version, if i didnt formated my disc, iÂ?d still use a even older version...

Its like this, winace may now be able to handle unpacking a rar format, but hands down the size of a rar file will ALWAYS be smaller than an ace archive. A compression utility is supposed to make things smaller, and winrar is always going to be the king at this one, so my advice to anyone that lowers themselves to actually use this program is to go out, buy a handgun and do the rest of the world a favor and shoot themselves in the face.

Summary
WinAce is an excellent program if you download a lot of different files locked in archives. Not everyone uses the same archiving format, so having one program deal with all of the most used is great. I like the file preview feature, where you can view text files right inside WinAce without having to extract the file first. A very good program that I have used for years.
Although download.com lists version 2.2 here, version 2.5 has been out since 2003. A much better, more feature rich version I would have to say. -
