    "What happened to WebRoot?"

    March 27, 2012  |   By FishFiddler

    Pros

    It is amazingly fast!

    Cons

Customer service has declined -- One-hour wait today is what the message says! I could not get on-line support to work. (Timeouts from their server)
If you like to monitor cookies, they no-longer do that... It was disconcerting to have this feature dropped early into the license. With an older version when I installed it on two of the computers, it gave me a one-day (not one year!) license. Took forever to sort out with webroot. This years update did not have that problem.

    Summary

Its ok, but I'm miffed because I like to monitor cookies and with an update it suddenly stopped doing that. I did talk to Tech support (only a 25 min wait.) They suggested that I use the system cleaner but that wiped out all cookies. I did not want to do that. They suggested that I use my browser's tools in the future. They told me that cookies are not longer an issue because they cannot do anything to your computer. Is privacy no longer an issue?

Also, I read all these glowing reviews. Some of them look a little too professional. Makes me wonder who is actually writing them. Web root is very good at motoring their reputation!
