Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials
"not user friendly"
Pros: av and antimalware seem to work fine.
Cons: that damned firewall bs makes spysweeper a real pain.
Summary: i have use webroot for about 5 years and it seems to get more complicated and unfriendly each year. the av and antimaleware seem to work fine but trying to figure out the fireawall is impossible for me. for example the firewall interrupts and tells me a certain program is trying to connect to the net from my computer. firewall tells me the name of the program but 99% of the time i have absolutly no idea what the program is. my option is to choose yes or automatically in 40 seconds the firewall will block the connection. but, the reason i have a firewall is to avoid having to deal with this type of interruption. i may try to reach webroot to cancel my subscription. and that is another problem in that the webroot customer service is impossible. i have waited over 40 minutes on the phone only to be told i have to call another webroot number. if you call to purchase webroot then you are connected as soon as their phone rings. but any other service is worthless. all in all, i would not recomend webroot even though the av and antimalware do seem to work, the hassle is not worth it. there are other security programs available.
after 5 years with webroot i have seen the evolution of their customer service and it is more like devolution and i dont recomend webroot because of the hassle of the firewall and the lack of customer service
