    "Nothing special"

    July 30, 2011  |   By The_Lyppard_Man

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

Didn't cause any BSODs or other serious problems on my PC while in use

    Cons

The program prevented me from shutting down my PC properly (it stuck on the logging off screen). I had to force shutdowns with the on/off switch.

    Summary

Save your money and avoid this software. I've gone back to Microsoft Security Essentials as that works without any problems and comes at a great price (free).

    "Can't work with this!"

    June 30, 2011  |   By Ozzynls

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

-It came free with my laptop.
-It pretty much seemed to run itself. Very easy to use... on the event that it actually works. (I imagine).

    Cons

-Didn't seem very customizable. (overly simplistic)
-Its implementation with firefox was outdated, didn't function.
-I got the sense while using the program that it wasn't "working". (no feedback on what it was doing to my computer).

    Summary

Do not buy this product, I wuldn't install it even if it was freeware.
I had to boot into Safe Mode to uninstall the software.

    "Fake ! Worst Antivirus Ever"

    May 14, 2011  |   By NischayPro

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

    Doesn't deserve to have one

    Cons

Removes important system files. Deletes harmless files.
Doesn't catch a trojan. Slows down the computer. I can't even believe that it is 1st in the internet-security-suite-review.

    Summary

I download Webroot and installed in the normal procedure. After installing I ran a full scan of my system. After the scan it showed 18 files (most were in system32 and were .dll's) infected with some kind of virus. So I clicked quarantine. Tomorrow when I booted my computer my computer showed error missing .dll files.

I sent an email through my other laptop to the tech. They said I deleted those files and Webroot had nothing to do with it .The only way to restore then is by installing the OS again.

Kaspersky is much more better. It though slows down my computer a bit but has a far more better detection rate then Webroot. I insist everyone to download another antivirus NOT THIS PLEASE OF JUNK.

"Does not catch Trojans for sure"

    May 8, 2011  |   By NotAFanEither

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

    None that come to mind

    Cons

Let Trojans and Malware through. I have been trying to clean up my computer for days now.

    Summary

No telling who has my personal and banking information out there thanks to this "program". The Webroot folks may get upset at this review but I could care less. They need to go back to the drawing board. Never, ever again will I buy this product.

"Stay Away From This At All Costs"

    April 2, 2011  |   By KailuaKai

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

There are no Pros left for this.

    Cons

    1. Let virus on Laptop.
    2. Stopped Internet Connection from working (took hours to resolve)
    3. No way to exit program.
    4. Slows down Web Browsing
    5. Slow to load.
    6. Automatic updater does not work.
    7. Restart left black screen on PC.

    Summary

I paid for about 8 licenses of this program but it has gone downhill and it is without a doubt the most dangerous and time wasting software I have ever come across. Stay away from it, seriously.

    "Nothing Good To Say"

    March 4, 2011  |   By ronlee031762

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

I got rid of the thing.

    Cons

Seems like their having issues at Webroot. Not the same as it was.

    Summary

The bottom line is that Webroot started out good. I first bought it in 2008 and it worked very well. In 2009 things started to fail. I kept getting blocks for maleware and the stupid thing would let them trough anyway. I now use Vipre Premium. It works excellent. Stay away from Webroot. It is more headaches than it is worth. Soory for the bad rap Webroot. Your no good anymore.

    "Root Kits your machine. MALWARE"

    February 25, 2011  |   By DarrinWest

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

    Teaches you computer hygene.

    Cons

Constant bogus popups warning you of false viruses. Almost impossible to remove. I had to download 3 different malware products and run one in safe mode to get rid of this thing.

    Summary

Don't believe me? Google "internet security essentials". CNet, you should be ashamed of hosting this stuff. Try Lavasoft AdAware, and/or Malware Byte's Antimalware. I was running Microsoft Security Essentials, and stil got the infection. Maybe "someone" said OK when they shouldn't have.

"This is FAKE anti-virus software and a scam"

    February 21, 2011  |   By eriqc

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

    What Pros?

    Cons

They are stealing money from people selling a product that does not do what it's advertised to do.

    Summary

"Internet Security Essentials" (a play on "Microsoft Security Essentials to trick people) is fake anti-virus software and classified as MALWARE. I can't believe this is on CNET's download.com. This needs to be removed immediately! People who have paid the subscription fee or $50 for support (only to be told to download other anti-virus software) are unfortunately SOL and outta cash.

    "Clumsy and SLOW"

    January 26, 2011  |   By ghost_011

Version: Webroot Internet Security Essentials 2011 7.0.8.7

    Pros

Effective scanning and the firewall doesn't consume system resources.

    Cons

Updates, however, stop everything. Instead of using automatic updates that could run in the background, I have to do it manually when I'm not doing anything for 5 minutes. I've used many security programs and this is the most annoying.

    Summary

I would recommend COMODO Internet Security. It's FREE and doesn't have the annoying quirks like this one. Although Webroot anti-virus and spyware programs are awesome.
