Version: WebRPG 2.1.2
"not practical at all"
Summary: As a method of playing tabletop RPG's over the internet, this program isn't practical at all for two main reasons. First, it's a slow runner and the lag can be a real problem. Everything has to be done by pasting lil' images here, making map-drawing on the DM's part extremely difficult. Secondly, it proved to be one of the least stable games I've used in a while. Though not prone to crashes, players would regularly and routinely get booted. Furthermore, having the GM function fulfilled by anyone but the game server prompted a reliable disconnect within 15-20 minutes. Aside from the exclusive use of icons (being able to draw a simple map as a DM would've been great), the program had some nice features and an adequate, if not the best, display. It's just not practical as a reliable gaming tool. Other programs (such as GRIP) work much better and now, since WebRPG isn't free any more, there's little reason to stick with this one.
