"Web Snapper and Relativity Calculator web site"
Version: Web Snapper 2.3.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
All day today I've been looking for some software which could capture pages of my web site Relativity Calculator [ www.relativitycalculator.com ] in either png, jpg or pdf. I have Snapz Pro 2.1.2 which is good for video and capturing part of the screen and I also tried Adobe Acrobat Professional version 7.1.0 which is good in keeping links available; however, Acrobat Professional did not export to png nor to jpg and besides the visual image in pdf was nothing compared to Web Snapper. Maybe the latest Acrobat Professional 9.0 will be an improvement, still I am extremely impressed with Web Snapper. Really! It is fast, it is convenient, it allows for a Safari button to speed up the capture process for an entire page. For those who complain that it captures an entire page and this may require a bit of Photoshop cropping, I say good and well to this capability. Better to capture the entire web page and then do cropping rather than having to estimate what amount of page length to first capture as some of these other softwares require with much time and energy expended in this effort. I also used Web Snapper on another rather complicated page of mine, http://www.relativitycalculator.com/energy_doppler.shtml, and it did so marvelously. I will now also both purchase Web Snapper as well as forward this posting directly to the folks at Web Snapper. Best of everything, Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com PS: Web Snapper did not do so well in pdf capture but this is just about similar to Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.1.0 as I've already stated for this software. -
"Heaven!"

This is simply astounding! Yes, the scaling is a bit off, but this app provides the very best way to generate a neat, deliverable PDF of a Web page, with all links active (unlike "Print to PDF" in OSX). Wicked fast and clean, this sure beats firing up that despicable mess, Acrob*t Pro, just to get a good PDF'd Web page. So simpleâ?¦ <sigh> -

Everyone needs an app like this.
The trouble is, there's only a few on the market.
I used to use Paparazzi! which has more features and is FREE!!!
Sadly, but it's not compatible with 10.5 currently.
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24625
(And you've gotta love the 184K file size)
Friends use DropImageURL which is donationware
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/33289
(One of) The MAJOR flaw(s) with WebSnapper is that the scale is TOTALLY wrong:
It says "Actual Size" but the image is zoomed in nearly 2x
Next up is the lack of URL information anywhere within the file comments.

"I like it :-)"
Version: Web Snapper 2.3.2
Summary

WebSnapper keeps getting better - needs some more work though - especially the Headers and Footers (Titlebar & URL) are to big and sometimes overelapping. Filenames should be changed to comply to UNIX conv. e.g. / should be translated to _ and so on (like Safari does it when You print to PDF).
...in response to Ross Welti: there is a Menu option called "Remove Safari Button" you can find in the frontmost "WebSnapper" Menu... -
"Works really well"

Once they fixed the integration with Safari, Web Snapper works really well. I use it a dozen times a day.
That said, the developer response can be very slow. It seems to be a one man company and if he's on vacation there is no response till he gets back. -

he doesn't honour guarantees, he threatens his users and still he gets honest feedback erased from versiontracker...

he still owes me the refund btw. -

It never ceases to amaze me how truly excellent software gems like this one are available so cheaply. How do these friggin' genius programmers manage to write software this useful for so little money? I guess they live on rice water, even days only.
This is excellent software, works perfectly. I wouldn't want to do without it. I've purchased copies for several friends as gifts and have it on every one of my Apples. I recommend it very highly.
Thank for making this software available, and for supporting and enhancing it.

I thought it was sad as RedSnapper went away - but then WebSnapper returned and is a really useful tool - and it does so many formats just with the push of one button.
Regarding Mikofox's comment: unlike save to PDF from MacOSX, WebSnapper does preserve the pages EXACTLY as they are including backgrounds, frames, everything and thats exactly what we want :-) We've also got stellar support so far - Thanx to Tim & Jean from TastyApps - keep on doing cool tools guys, we love it.
