It is a very good and comprehensive weather watching tool, no doubt better than my widget and i dont have to open the browser to use my great free for real, weather forecaster for firefox

it is only a free trial and is $16 to buy. it is a good one, if you feel like buying it. it isnt for free as the editor's quick overview indicated. i hate that when they do it, just say it is a trialware and save a few minutes uninstalling it

I deducted star rating on the sales practice, it is part of the product. I might have purchased it had it not been called free by editors. i did not see the whole page when i got solicited via email to download it. I was emailed to update and i do not have this product but mistook it for the weather program i do have and it is indeed, Free. I usually do not degrade stars based on anything but how the thing works. It is integral that I pay $16 to make it work past the trial period. I will not rate something based on a 30day trial if it substantially changes unless i buy it if it is presented to me as 'FREE"
i just got a request to review this , again, on 12/11 and provided one. It is a very good product but not the freeware it was represented to be. I do not use it. will not use it and i have provided this same review for 2years when i made the first mistake by downloading it as a freeware product. it is real comprehensive but not free. i use a couple of excellent freeware weather forecasters both of similar design but are browser orientated. i am not happy with any program, no matter how good, that represents as free and only when you get it do you find out you have to buy it after a few days. a few programs offer all the key components for free but charge for bells and whistles , auto operation , those are just fine. this is not one of that category so i will not use it. if it were offered as a paid for program up front, i would possibly have purchased it, as i have for half a dozen programs i saw here on cnet. i am happy to pay and i have paid over a hundred for one movie program
the quick review called it free. it isnt free, in any sense of the meaning. i do not like the editor's decisions to bend the language to suit them. it is a trial. a 'free trial' is bending free and redundant. someone is going to pay to try it? then it isnt being tried . i might have bought this and others if they were honest and didnt tell me it was free and then i down load it to find out i have to pay if i want it or if i want to have most of the useful features. there are a few exceptions that the freeware is as good as the paid version and only add scheduling and some auto functions for the paid protion and do not dilute the basic strengths.

What I would call "malware" is checked as part of the download and annoys the heck out of me as it is a paid app!
If it's paid for, Mr Singer, do not accept payment from anyone else as already checked add ones-in particular, toolbars....Summary
Good app went to paid for (OK) then added stuff I didn't ask for. I was downloading the latest revision and ran through it quickly as I trusted Mr Singer. Whoops. I know now to trust no-one.
Too many updates to the program-mostly to expose you to the add on programs. Straighten up Mr Singer, you are better than that!
I am still using it as it is very good, but the other stuff makes you as bad as weather.com -

If knowing a lot of detail regarding weather forecasts is important to you, this MAY be for you.

Not TOO much improvement over Weather Watcher version 5.6.48 a TOTALLY free version.
Summary
I advise you try both and decide for yourself if the additional features are worth the $16 a year or $78 lifetime license. I'm not sure myself, but I DID purchase a one year license for version 7.0.27. If at the end of that year I feel it's worth it I may purchase a lifetime license.
Note that the free Weather Watcher has a different name than the shareware Weather Watcher Live. You may need to do a little hunting on the net to find a copy of the old Weather Watcher. Mr. Singer would rather you purchase a license I'm sure. -

Interface is colorful. It lets you pick any local weather station you want (within your city, county, or state).
Cons
With each iteration Weather Watcher seems to add graphics adn gadgets just for the sake of it. These new "features add nothing to the program and make it more of a CPU hog.
Summary
Weather Watcher version5.653 is the last TOTALLY FREE version of this program. I'd pay twice what they're asking for wwl7.027).

I like the program, but I have used it for a long time when it was free. Now Singer charges for it and I notice nothing tangible for the investment I made over the free version which is no longer available.
Cons
I use the airport as my home, the official one in my townn. Half the time it states it is unavailable and using the nearest available location. There is a disparity between the two and I can simply log on to the airport website running fine.
Summary
Not worth paying for what was a free program and I shall not renew. There are other free sources I can use and have a tax bar display of temparature-for free!

Nothing is good about this, you are limited unless you pay and it tries to install a boot sector virus.
Cons
w32.dropper is found within install, this guy also become greedy and is wanting money for his crapped infected program.
Summary
This used to be good when it was free now it is completely turned into junk. Avoid this at all cost.
