"they sent me a beta version"

    December 11, 2011  |   By Vladimir_Jabotinsky

    Pros

More powerful & more fun to work with than the other audio editing programs I've given free trials

    Cons

there must be easier companies than NCH to buy from or deal with

    Summary

What I paid for and what PayPal & NCH confirmation letters said I'd bought was the dumbbutt basic version. What was downloaded proved (the next morning, after their server woke up & stopped demanding that I buy what they'd just installed) was v5.05 Master Edition - it took a while to notice up in one corner: >Beta<.
NCH does have a rep, nickel & diming users to death for decimal uprades. I have a >lot< of use for this program's basic capabilities - surely those must be stable by now - but if you buy it for more serious work, at least make sure you're not getting more than you paid for.

Like you, I bought WavePad as: MASTER edition v4.59. I even put up with it saving my mp3 files as mp2 files.

Finally I reported a "bug fix" and was informed AUTOMATICALLY the "newer patch" would "go over" my paid for program what... as happened to me earlier with SWITCH by NCH, the patch removed my program! I was back to a 'TRIAL' version:
NCH state BUY a newer WavePad or KEEP USING YOUR CURRENT (faulty) VERSION

Re-installed paid for MASTER EDITION, SAME PROBLEM.
    Results of my report? NOTHING.
NCH treat their customers in the worst fashion I have come across.

They're unreachable, with bug ridden products and complex ONE TIME registrations (do NOT change your hard drive!).

Massive misinformation on all their 'info' pages.

It's a poor product from a mercenary company that required 30 bug fixes over just THREE recent versions. Wasn't V1 sold as fully working?

"Thank you for your cash, NCH".

    Mike S
