From Interactive Creations:
This sophisticated multiplayer WWII combat flight simulator uses declassified WWII flight test data. It incorporates true six-degrees-of-freedom and force-based flight modeling, which gives the aircraft a realistic feel. You can fly in aerial combat missions against other players from all over the world. Battle a "real" Japanese squadron of A6M Zeros, or tangle with a British ace in a Spitfire.
This is the full installation of the program with all 50 planes and cockpits.
Real feeling of dogfight, many famous aircrafts to choose plus valuable informations on each of them.
Not suitable for window XP of any versions. If you install this game on them you may be lucky enought to fly only three aircrafts in 3D mode . Vista is fine and guess also work very well on Window 7 but may not be able to open the game help manual.
Great game, you can even feel the intense of dogfighting. Very realistic still, though the graphic may be a little out of date. The game is carefully made from a lot of research about the war-machines at their glory days. Once you've learnt to master your flying, you will realise that each plans has a distinctive characteristic in which you may find the one that most suit you. If you love Mustang, Hellcat, Corsair, Zero, 109, 190 and many more, you will fall with this game since the first time you sit inside their cockpits. You will never get tired of flying them days and nights and forever. A truly classic!

I would like to update my information, after trials and errors, I discovered that it work on full potential with AMD CPU, the OS is not matter as long as it is window xp and higher. I used AMD Athlon computer and can play with Direct 3 D mode. It is better graphic and can choose all the planes options. You can enjoy riding from A6M to Yak. I also run this game on my friend's computer, all intel CPU don't execute Direct 3D mode only partly not full potential **Please be noted**
War Birds was uploaded here in June of 2002 and you're saying it doesn't work with Windows XP, but it works well with an operating system that wasn't even written yet. Vista was released in January of 2007. That really doesn't make any sense.
This game is really great. Although it is a demo, it is fully playable and simply addictive. Once you tried it, you'll get hooked on this one.
Good graphics. Smooth, you can see other units clearly when flying close to them. Realistic WWII combat flight sim game. Very addictive. I just tried this game out of curiosity but, oh man,... I got my time passing so past without noticing I've been playing this for almost 6 hours.
A lot of shootings. But there are missions too. This game has Take offs and landings lesson too. So, i can say the this really is a flight sim game.
Account for online game has payment. Need to create account to play online
Could not install, cabinet file is corrupt under WinXP2002 SP1.
It is nearly impossible to get this game through download. You are better off contacting the publisher and purchasing the software directly. Be sure your machine meets the EXACT specifications, not just the general minimums. Game is very twitchy if it doesn't.
