"Trial vers too limited, is useless."

Pros
$30 version might be good & might not. The trial version was too limited for me to make a judgement. I've wiped it off my system & will find a solution elsewhere.

See pros. The description on the cnet site should tell the user what kind of limitations there are in trial versions.

Advertising is definitely misleading as you must pay to really be able to use it.Summary

Pros
Didn't have a chance to try it - none of my WTV files was small enough.
Cons
Functionality of the trial version is limited to WTV files of no more than 300Mb in size. Since even a 1/2 hour WTV file is a couple of Gb, it's somewhat pointless getting the trial version. $29.50 is somewhat pricey for a single-format converter.
Summary
If you really need this, find someone who has already bought it and do some trial conversions on their computer. If you really want it, buy it only then.
Another program that can convert WTV files is a Video Redo beta version which has a fully functional trial. But there is an extra step as it only converts WTV to Mpeg so you then have to convert the Mpeg to AVI. On the other hand, it's also a video editor, so you get two in one. -

Converts WTVs to AVIs fairly quickly in good quality, with a very easy-to-use interface.
Cons
$30 is a lot to pay for just one function, and it seems greedy of the publisher to sell the almost-identical WTV to MPEG converter separately. (As well as the WTV to Mp4, and a few others.) Surely they could have been bundled as the one program?
Summary
This program seems to be the best of its type. It converts WTV to AVI with less fuss than any other program I've found - the only real drawbacks are the prohibitive cost and the lack of other functions.
