There are a few hoops to jump through, but this simple encryption utility proves reliable in our tests. Without a dedicated interface, WEnc-Windows Encryption is conveniently integrated with Windows, making encryption and decryption chores easy to accomplish. Rather than relying on passwords, the program uses key certificates. A key generator automatically generates the key certificates or you can create your own and store them on the hard drive or on a flash or floppy disk. When using Blowfish to encrypt documents, the program automatically renames the encrypted file and overwrites the original. WEnc can process multiple files at once and encrypts/decrypts an entire folder with a single key certificate saving each file individually. Although you can e-mail your encrypted files, recipients will need to have WEnc-Windows Encryption installed on their PC for decryption. The program doesn't compress encrypted documents and doesn't offer any other algorithm alternatives, but it deciphers and launches encrypted files quickly. This 15-day trial requires extra steps not found in other encryption tools, but some users will appreciate not having to keep up with passwords.Publisher's description
(From ToroSoft Software ):The quick, easy, and secure way to encrypt all your files and folders. Keep all your files safe with Wenc. WEnc is embedded right into Window Explorer and Windows 'My Computer'. Just right click on a file or folder and select WEnc's 'Encrypt' or 'Decrypt' function from the popup menu. You can also double click on an encrypted file to automatically decrypt it and launch it into it's associated application. WEnc uses a 'Key Certificate' to encrypt and decrypt files. There are no passwords to remember. Just generate a Key Certificate on a floppy disk, CD, and Flash Drive. Keep your Key Certificate files in a safe place. WEnc uses a strong 64Bit enhanced version of the highly secure 'Blowfish' encryption algorithm. File names, as well as data, are quickly and securely encrypted.
